Tibia Interlocking Nail Removal is considered when the bone is fully healed but the implant begins to cause pain, irritation, or restriction of movement.
However, the procedure itself isn’t always simple.
The nail may be tightly fixed, bone may have grown around it, and screws may be difficult to remove.
Sometimes special instruments or extra surgical exposure is required — especially if the implant has been in place for a long time.
Still, once done successfully, most patients experience improved comfort and mobility.
