Rotaract Club of SBSC The Rotaract Club of SBSC aims at serving the society, and also at developing leadership and professional skills among its members.

Rotaract Club

Rotaract club is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women
who are aged 18 to 30. Rotaract clubs are either community or university
based. Being sponsored by a local Rotary Club, the Rotaract Club is a true
partner in service with the Rotary International. It is thus one of the most
significant and fastest growing service programs. The Rotaractors can seek
membership in their local Rotary Club after their Rotaract membership ends. Rotaract Club of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College

Rotaract club of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College is a university based club
which was installed on 1st July, 2012. Objective of the club is to organise
events focused on fulfilling responsibilities towards the society besides making
the members aware of the real work environment in the today’s corporate
world where spirit of philanthropy is deeply embedded. The club will ensure
that its members learn the art of exploiting the business opportunities which
operate within the ethical realm and thus making the youth of today as better
citizens for tomorrow. Various projects during the year will be in the following manner:
-August- Health Check up camp in a school in collaboration with an NGO
and a hospital.

-September- Cleanliness Drive to make people aware about the importance
of general hygiene and clean surroundings.

-October- Exhibition of the products made by various NGOs by taking up a
stall in a festive fare.

-December- Blood Donation camp.

-January- National Conference fo rprofessional and leadership development of the Rotaractors.

-February- Tree Plantation so as to reverse the impact of deforestation
by the rapid industrialisation in a particular area of the National Capital
Territory of Delhi as far as possible.

-March- Planning and bringing out the newsletter of the Rotaract Club of
SBSC 2012-2013.

-April- Recap of the activities done throughout the year and making
further strategies and setting up the goals and objectives henceforth and
felicitation of the Rotaractors as according to their performance during the
session. The people who will be taken in during the first round of
recruitment in the month of July will be required to pay the membership fees of Rs.2000. The annual maintenance fees will
be chargeable from the next year as the club has been installed
during the current session only. Being a Rotaractor

As soon as you become a Rotaractor, you automatically become a part of the
huge Rotary International family also. The essence of being a Rotaractor is that
the person is good and kind hearted and stands apart from the crowd. All these
qualities certainly turn a team member into the one who can lead. You also get
a chance to interact with the professional experts which helps to expand your
horizons to the widest possible extent. And above all it makes you aware of your
societal duties thus making you a true human being keeping the motto of Rotary
International alive:

“Service above self”

A Clothes and Toys Donation event was organised on 9th March, 2013 in Agmaya that is an NGO providing shelter to homeless people. The event started at 11:00 a.m. and Mr.Biraja Mahapatra, Founder, Build India Group was the chief guest.The event was also graced by Rtn Ravi Kalra founder and President of Earth Saviours foundation and President Elect of Rotary Club of Delhi Ridge and Rtr. Himanshu Gupta DRR Elect, Rotary International District 3010 (2013-14).More than 800 clothes and toys in all were donated to Agmaya which would be very helpful in fulfilling the needs of the people there.The event also had various cultural performances by the Rotaractors, which had brought the joy amongst the 75 children who were present in the gathering.

The Rotaract Club of S.B.S.C. in association with Delhi Police, Greater Kailash went on a Nukkad Natak drive on the 23rd and 24th March, 2013, performing Street plays at the various areas of Greater Kailash area. Theme of the play was Women Empowerment and it was performed at four different venues, consisting of Markets, parks and also Bastis. The 8 minutes long Nukkad Natak was first displayed in the crowded and happening market of M Block, where it received a tremendous acclaim from the crowd. This was followed with performances at S Block and R Block Park, and then finally in Zamrudpur Slum. The support of various RWAs was worthwhile commending in this initiative.

Rotaract Club of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College in association with Delhi Police, Greater Kailash organized a Blood Donation Camp on 22 February, 2013 at M-block Market Greater Kailash-I. The Rotary Blood Bank team was present to collect blood.
The camp started at 11:00 a.m. with people from different age groups and walks of life coming in to contribute to the noble cause. 50 donors were registered out of which 30 units of blood were collected and 15 units were finally cleared for safe donation after the medical screening. This was followed by a lunch for the medical team and Rotaractors which was provided by Delhi Police.
The blood donation camp lasted for 3 hours and was a success due to the initiative of Delhi Police and Rtr. Uday Sonthalia, President, Rotaract Club of SBSC and his team
