Childhood Emotional Neglect doesn’t always look dramatic.
Sometimes it looks like:

• Feeling “empty” but not knowing why

The confident professional.

The calm counsellor.

Carl Jung called it the Shadow —
the place where our shame, anger, jealousy, guilt and unmet needs live.

Not because they are evil.
But because they were once unacceptable.

So we pushed them down.
Pretended they weren’t there.
Built an identity that looked “better.”

But here’s the truth:

The shadow doesn’t disappear.
It leaks — in triggers, overreactions, burnout, self-sabotage.

Real healing begins the moment you stop fighting your shadow…
