It’s called the 5-4-3-2-1 Grounding Technique — a powerful way to calm your mind and reconnect with your body 👇

🌸 Step 1: Notice 5 Things You Can See
Look around and name five things — a light, a shadow, your hands, the color of the wall. Visual awareness grounds you in where you are right now.

🤲 Step 2: Notice 4 Things You Can Feel
Feel your clothes on your skin, the texture of your chair, the floor beneath your feet. This brings your attention out of your thoughts and into your senses.

👂 Step 3: Notice 3 Things You Can Hear
Listen closely — maybe it’s the hum of the fan, distant voices, or birds outside. Sound helps you anchor your awareness in the moment.

👃 Step 4: Notice 2 Things You Can Smell
Take a deep breath. Notice any scent — your coffee, perfume, or even fresh air. Breathing deeply also soothes your nervous system.

👅 Step 5: Notice 1 Thing You Can Taste
Sip water or notice the lingering taste in your mouth — it’s your final cue to return to now.
