PSORIASIS AND IT'S MANAGEMENT:

Psoriasis is a inherited dominant disease. To explain the phenomenon of psoriasis we have to first understand layers of skin.

The skin is made of many layers the outer most layer is epidermis. Now this epidermis is further divided into :

Stratum cornium (epithelial layer)- other most layer

Stratum malpigii (prickle cell layer)- middle layer

Stratum germinatum ( basal cell layer)- inner layer

Now when the skin cell is produced it's production takes place in basal cell layer ( inner most layer of epidermis) this premature cell takes 28 days to get maturation and reach epithelial layer and this other most layer sheds of after some time.

Now in case of psoriasis this duration of 28 days is critically reduced up to 2- 3 days. Due to this fast production and maturation of cells the large number of cells accumulate on the skin in form of dry silvery scales. These are known as psoritic lesions.

As psoriasis is a gene related disorder and is a inherited disease , so permanant cure of this disease is not possible but some homoeopathic medicines are able to manage the cases wonderfully.

The extent of relief to a patient through homoeopathic medicines are :

1: Homoeopathic medicine reduces the plaque formation and cleans the patches on the skin.

2: It reduces the itching and burning and discomfort.

3: It reduces the cracks and fissures on the skin caused due to dryness of skin.

4: It also manages the secondary effects of psoriasis such as psoritic arthritis and other.

Few commonly used medicines for managing the case of psoriasis are....
Borax
Merv Sol.
Flotic acid
Sulphur
Sepia
Staphisgrasia
Silicea
Nitric acid
Natrum mur...
And many more medicines are indicated to manage psoriasis. But importance of constitutional prescribing can not be ignored.

LEUCODERMA AND ITS HOMOEOPATHIC MANAGEMENT:

Leucoderma is an acquired condition with localized loss of pigmentation of the skin that may occur after inflammation of skin, burns, injuries, repeated traumas, etc. It is largely a cosmetic problem, but neither infectious nor contagious. In 10 - 30% cases it may occur due to hereditary reasons.

Leucoderma occurs due to malfunction of melanocytes (cells which produce melamine pigment , which is responsible for colour complexion of our skin).

Leucoderma can occur at any part of the body. Initially there are one or two hypopigmented patches. In some cases these patches are static or very slow in progress while in other cases there is fast progress and involvement of whole body is seen. This generalised spread hypo pigmentation is known as vitiligo.

When patient arrives to the clinic there no symptoms just lesion are the only symptoms. In some cases there may be mild redness or itching in lesions.

After taking appropriate treatment majority of cases show repigmentation.
Repigmentation initially seen around the hair follicle then around the margins of the lesion.

ROLE OF HOMOEOPTHY IN LEUCODERMA.

Homoeopathy has shown great results with leucodermal cases . There are number of medicines used for repigmentation such as.
Ars-sulph-flav
Silicea
Sulphur
Selenium
Stannum met
Cyclamen
Lac can
Hydrocotyle
Alumina
And many more medicines are used in leucoderma cases but as we know that skin reflects internally deranged melanocytes function so these medicines may give temporary relief to the patient.

For long term relief in such cases proper case taking is important. Constitutional prescriptions had given tremendous relives in leucoderma cases.

ECZEMA AND IT'S HOMOEOPATHIC MANAGEMENT: PART 2

In earlier post I have explained medical information about eczema. Usually during practise when the patient arrives he has some generalised discomforts such as:
1: itching and redness of the effected part
2: swelling or bleeding may be present.
3: scratching followed by burning in some cases.
4: sticky or watery fluid comes out from the vesicle.

Now homoeopathy can manage the case wonderfully......

COMMONLY USED MEDICINES IN ECZEMA are:
1: Sepia
2: Graphites
3: Natum mur
4: Mezereum
5: Sulphur
6: Silicea
7: Arsenic alb
And many more medicines contain symptoms similar to eczema.....but these all medicines are effectively implemented by correct approach of choosing right medicine for every particular given case.

Haphazardly prescribing any medicine without proper case taking may lead to complicate the case further or there may be no relief....

Every single case is a unique set of symptoms which is similar to a particular medicine. It is not compulsory that two person having eczema in leg or having same eruption will be cured by same medicine.
They both have their unique set of symptoms. So both should under go two distinguished case takings for better results.

ECZEMA AND ITS HOMOEOPATHIC MANAGEMENT: PART 1

Eczema is a group of conditions that show a similar pattern of changes in the skin, giving rise to specific changes on the surface. Characterised by redness, inflammation, scaling, itching and many other distressful symptoms.

Intense inflammation
l
formation of little blister
(vesicles) in the skin
l
Blister soon burst or are
scratched open
l
leading to weeping and
the ‘flowing out’ of fluid.
l
Due to weeping blisters skin
appears like a sponge so
clinically the term
‘spongiosis’ is used.

CAUSES OF ECZEMA:
1: House dust mites
2: Animal dander
3: Mould
4: Certain foods (e.g., milk, nuts)
5: Pollen
6: Certain fabrics
7: Soaps, cosmetics, perfumes
8: Detergents and other cleaning fluids.
9: Some people report that emotional stress can also make their eczema symptoms flare up.

TYPES OF ECZEMA:
1: Atopic eczema
2: Seborrhoic eczema
3: Contact irritant eczema
4: Drug induced eczema
5: Dermatitis herpetiformis

CHRONOLOGICAL TYPES: chronological division is accodning to the time period of pathology.
1: ACUTE ECZEMA
2: CHRONIC ECZEMA

SYMPTOMS OF ECZEMA:

ACUTE ECZEMA:
1: Weeping and crusting.
2: Vesicles with large blisters.
3: Redness, papules and swelling
4: Eruptions with ill,-defined border
5: Scaling

CHRONIC ECZEMA:
1: Less vesicular and exudative.
2: More scaly, pigmented and thickened.
3: More likely to show lichenification a dry leathery thickened state after scratching.
4: Increased skin markings.
5: eruptions accompanied with fissures.

Note : Eczema is not contagious, and one can’t acquire eczema by coming in to contact with suffers of eczema.

ARTHRITIS AND ITS HOMOEOPATHIC MANAGEMENT.

Arthritis is a joint disorder in which inflammation of one or more joints take place.

( Note: arthritis is again a functional disorder initially so homoeopathic mode of treatment has a great scope in treatment of arthritis.)

SYMPTOMS:
* Inflammation of joint results pain in joint.
* Pain is localised to the effected part.
* There is heat and redness of the joint.
* There may be stiffness and swelling around the joint.
* Stiffness gets worse in morning and after using the effected joint.
* There may be fever in some cases
* There may be cracking sound in knee joint or any other effected joint as well
* There may be sleep disturbances also.

HOMOEOPATHIC MANAGEMENT( with help of poly pharmacy)

There are number of drugs which help in pain and redness in acute cases when patient is in severe distress.
Ledum pal
Rhus tox
Colchicum
Kalmia lot
Guaiacum
Calcarea carb
Benzoic acid
Hypericum
And many more drugs are able to palliate the acute symptoms of disease

Note: these medicines are able to manage the case but permanent cure is not sure. For permanent cure its important to have a constitutional prescription as well.

HOW DOES A CONSTITUTIONAL PRESCRIPTION HELPS IN ARTHRITIS

When you will go for a constitutional prescribing the physician will enquire the whole case since the time you felt the pain in affected joint very first time. Then gradually what was the pattern of pain followed; Then he will ask some generalities related to your habits personality etc ;Which will cover your physical and mental sphere.( mental and physical general reveal what is the over all impact of disease on your body and how much mental distress has been created by the malady)

Now after understanding the whole course of disease and whole distress of your body when he will conclude one medicine that will be the most suitable homoeopathic medicine for your case and it will give the best results hopefully.
