Two years ago, I was diagnosed with mucoid degeneration of the ACL and the pain was unbearable. Walking felt impossible - running was out of the question. Along with the physical struggle came depression, weight gain and career challenges that tested me deeply.

Today, I stand grateful for the people who believed in me when I couldn’t believe in myself. Those who gave me their time, guidance and healing when I was at my lowest.

This run is not just a milestone, it’s a tribute to everyone who stood by me when I was broken and helped me rise again. ✨🫰🎉🙏🏻

Stepping into the post-menopausal phase doesn’t mean slowing down, it’s an opportunity to rebuild strength with intention. Prioritising resistance training helps preserve muscle mass, supports bone health, and keeps the body resilient. A strong core enhances stability, posture and confidence, while functional movements make daily tasks smoother and safer.

Through science-backed guidance, I aim to help women stay active, independent, and empowered for years to come. Stronger women, healthier futures - one mindful workout at a time. 💪✨

There continues to be debate around low-carbohydrate dietary approaches.
However, the science is becoming increasingly clear.
Human metabolism is hormonally regulated, not calorie-regulated.
Calories are simply a unit of heat.

They do not determine:
• Fat storage vs fat mobilization
• Hunger vs satiety
• Metabolic flexibility vs insulin resistance
These processes are primarily governed by insulin and counter-regulatory hormones.

When insulin remains chronically elevated:
– Fat becomes locked in adipose tissue
– Lipolysis is suppressed
– Hunger persists despite abundant stored energy
– Weight regain becomes predictable

This explains why calorie-centric advice often fails in real-world clinical practice.
Lower-carbohydrate approaches work not because of “restriction,” but because they restore physiologic access to fuel, improve metabolic flexibility and reduce hyperinsulinemia.

Across diabetes, cardiometabolic disease, fatty liver and obesity care, we consistently observe:
• Improved glycemic control before significant weight loss
• Reduced medication burden
• Lower hunger and better long-term adherence
• Improved mitochondrial fuel utilization

This is not ideology.
It is physiology.

By improving our understanding of hormonal regulation and metabolism, we improve our relationship with food and become better guides for those who seek our help.
It’s time to move beyond calorie math and toward biological reality.

Why aren’t all calories equally fattening?
The simple reason is that they don’t stimulate insulin in the same way.

Carbohydrates stimulate insulin nearly 100%.
Proteins stimulate insulin by about 40%, but this effect is largely counteracted by glucagon.
Fats stimulate insulin by only around 4%.

So, the next time you think about weight gain or weight loss purely in terms of calories, it’s important to understand how different macronutrients affect hormones.

The key is to aim for satiety, not just a calorie deficit.

If you’re expecting, a baby ultrasound is a safe and essential part of prenatal care. There’s no need to fast - eat normally, stay relaxed and always carry your previous reports for accurate comparison. Ultrasounds are painless and use sound waves, not radiation, making them completely safe when done medically.

Scans are advised only when necessary, each serving a specific purpose in monitoring your baby’s growth and wellbeing. Also, remember that gender determination is strictly prohibited by law in India - the focus is always on your baby’s health and development.

An ultrasound is more than just seeing your baby, it’s a vital check on their overall wellbeing.

Protein is not just for the gym, it’s essential at every stage of life 🥗💪

From growing children and active adults to elders, protein plays a vital role in building muscles, repairing tissues, supporting immunity, maintaining bone health and keeping metabolism strong. As we age, adequate protein intake becomes even more important to prevent muscle loss, weakness and fatigue.

Whether your goal is fitness, recovery, healthy ageing or overall wellness, including enough protein in your daily diet is a must, not an option.

Because good nutrition today builds a healthier tomorrow.
