COLCHICUM
This medicine has power of releiving the gouty complaints. The affected part becomes red hot swollen with tearing pains.
Pains agg.from cold of any kinds, and relieved by hot application ( opposite --Led ), pain agg.in the evening and at night, and also from slight touch and exertion , can not bear to have to it touched or moved. Pain shifting in nature, rapidly shifts from one part to another. ( Puls.)
( Pain agg. from slight exertion and movement -- Bry, but in Bryonia pain releived by pressure, in Colchicum no question of relieved by pressure, rather pain agg. from slightest touch and exertion ).
Can not tolerate smelling of cooking food, causes nausea, even fainting. Cooking fish, eggs and meats are most disaggreable foods to produce violent nausea and vomiting.
Great flatulence or distension of stomach, ( Carbo Veg ), with burning or cold sensation. Coldness sensation my also found in other parts of the body.
Dysentery -- stool mucoid, bloody with tenesmus, flatulence, etc. but the differentiation features from Merc Sol and other medicines is -- in Cochicum there is always great distension of the stomach and violent disaggreable nausea from cooking foods especially from fish, meat, and eggs.
There is always great prostration.
