Medens Hospital organised the first ever Pediatric Rheumatology & Immunology Conference in Haryana - PeRiCon 2025 - on 07th September at Hotel Bella Vista, Panchkula. The conference had 10 power packed lectures covering various aspects of rheumatic diseases in children.

We had delegates from Ambala, YamunaNagar, Kurukshetra, Barwala, Gharaunda, Fatehabad, Panchkula, Chandigarh and Mohali.

We are thankful to all the Speakers, Chairpersons and delegates for their presence, encouragement and academic discussions during the conference.

A young girl had fever for 2 months for which she was on treatment outside, including hospital admission. When she presented to MEDENS, she had fever, cytopenias, hepatitis, nephritis and pancreatitis. She was diagnosed to have SLE, a multisystem autoimmune disease. At discharge, she had no fever, cytopenia, hepatitis or pancreatitis. After 2 months, her nephritis has shown significant improvement.

I remember she was teary-eyed 2 months back when she asked ‘Sir, main theek ho jaungi na’ and I will remember when she said, teary-eyed again ‘Thank you mujhe bachane ke liye’.

The diagnosis of many Rheumatic diseases in children is often delayed because of uncommon presentation and lack of awareness. However, I have seen positive changes over the last 7 years of my practice as a Pediatric Rheumatologist. MEDENS has been at the forefront of managing children with Rheumatic diseases, and we aspire to grow day after day, year after year.
