🚨 ECTOPIC PREGNANCY: Know the Warning Signs 🚨

An ectopic pregnancy happens when a fertilized egg implants outside the uterus — most commonly in the fallopian tube.

It is a medical emergency if not diagnosed early.

⚠️ Symptoms to watch for:
• Missed period + positive pregnancy test
• One-sided lower abdominal pain
• Vaginal spotting
• Shoulder tip pain
• Dizziness / fainting

Severe pain + weakness = Go to the ER immediately.

🩺 How is it diagnosed?
✔️ Serial Beta-hCG levels
✔️ Transvaginal ultrasound

💊 Treatment depends on timing:
• Early, stable cases → Medical management (Methotrexate)
• Ruptured/unstable → Emergency laparoscopy

Early detection can preserve fertility.
Delay can be life-threatening.

If you are newly pregnant and experiencing pain — don’t ignore it.
Your body whispers before it screams.

🌸 FOLIC ACID & PREGNANCY – Tiny Vitamin, Big Impact! 🌸

Planning a pregnancy? Already expecting?
Don’t forget your Folic Acid!

✨ Why is it important?
Folic acid helps in early baby development — especially the brain and spinal cord.
It significantly reduces the risk of Neural Tube Defects (NTDs) like spina bifida.

🗓 When should you start?
Ideally at least 1 month before conception
Continue through the first trimester (and often throughout pregnancy as advised).

💊 Recommended Dose:
✔️ Low-risk women: 400–500 mcg daily
✔️ High-risk (previous NTD baby, diabetes, obesity, epilepsy, etc.): 5 mg daily (only on doctor’s advice)

🥬 Natural sources include:
Spinach | Broccoli | Lentils | Citrus fruits | Fortified cereals
But diet alone is usually NOT enough — supplements are essential.

👩‍⚕️ Pro Tip:
Many pregnancies are unplanned — so women of reproductive age should consider taking folic acid regularly.

Healthy start = Healthy baby 💛

PELVIC FLOOR DYSFUNCTION – The silent problem affecting millions of women

If you leak urine when you laugh, cough or exercise…
If you feel pressure, heaviness or something “coming down”…
If s*x has become painful or less pleasurable…
If you struggle to empty your bladder or bowels…

This is not normal ageing.
This is not “just after childbirth.”
This is Pelvic Floor Dysfunction (PFD).

Your pelvic floor is a group of muscles that acts like a hammock.
It holds your bladder, uterus and bowel in place and controls
urination, bowel movements and s*xual function.

When these muscles become weak, tight or poorly coordinated,
you develop symptoms like:
• Urinary leakage
• Vaginal laxity
• Prolapse
• Pain during intimacy
• Constipation
• Recurrent UTIs
• Lower back and pelvic pain

And yet, most women suffer silently for years.

Who is at risk?
Pregnancy and childbirth, C-sections, menopause, hormonal changes,
obesity, chronic cough, constipation, heavy lifting, high-impact workouts
and long sitting hours all strain the pelvic floor.

The truth:
Pelvic floor dysfunction is common, but it is not normal — and it is treatable.

With the right care, you can restore strength, control and confidence through:
✔ Pelvic floor physiotherapy
✔ Properly guided Kegels
✔ Breathing and posture correction
✔ Hormonal support when needed
✔ Medical or surgical treatment for advanced cases

Ignoring PFD can lead to worsening prolapse, bladder issues, painful s*x and loss of quality of life — but treating it can be truly life-changing.

Your body isn’t weak.
It’s asking for support.

Let’s start talking about pelvic health.
Because a strong pelvic floor means a strong woman.

Save this. Share this. Educate another woman today 💗

Pap Smear & HPV Vaccine 🚨

They are NOT mutually exclusive

❌ Myth:
“If I’ve taken the HPV vaccine, I don’t need Pap smears.”

✅ Fact:
HPV vaccination and Pap smear screening work together — not instead of each other.

Why BOTH matter 👇

🧬 HPV Vaccine
• Prevents infection from high-risk HPV types
• Best before s*xual exposure
• Does not protect against all cancer-causing HPV types

🔬 Pap Smear / HPV Test
• Detects early cellular changes
• Can pick up precancer before symptoms
• Needed even after vaccination

Key Takeaway 🩺

👉 Vaccinated women still need regular screening
👉 Screening saves lives — vaccination strengthens protection

PREMATURE OVARIAN FAILURE (POF)
(Also called Primary Ovarian Insufficiency)

Periods stopping before 40 is not “just stress” 🚩

Red flags to watch for ⬇️
▫️ Missed or irregular periods
▫️ Hot flashes, night sweats
▫️ Vaginal dryness
▫️ Low libido
▫️ Difficulty getting pregnant

Common causes
▫️ Autoimmune conditions
▫️ Genetic factors (Turner, Fragile X)
▫️ Chemotherapy / radiation
▫️ Post-surgery ovarian damage
▫️ Sometimes — no cause found

Diagnosis involves
▫️ High FSH (on 2 occasions)
▫️ Low AMH
▫️ Low estrogen
▫️ Ultrasound showing low ovarian reserve

Important to know 💡
✔️ It’s not early menopause
✔️ Ovaries may still work intermittently
✔️ Pregnancy can still happen in some women
✔️ Early diagnosis protects bones & heart

Treatment focus
▫️ Hormone replacement (until natural menopause age)
▫️ Fertility options & counselling
▫️ Emotional support matters ❤️

👉 If periods stop early, don’t ignore it. Get evaluated.
