Last rites are not important for the one who has died. They are important for the ones who are alive.
The dead person has already left the body. The body is only a house that has been vacated..No ritual can reach the consciousness that has moved on.
Consciousness does not wait near fire, flowers, mantras, or priests. It moves according to its own awareness, its own journey. So why do humans perform last rites?
Because the living need closure. Because the mind needs a full stop. Because love needs a farewell. Because grief needs a structure to express itself.
Rituals give peace to the mind of the living. They give dignity to death. They remind you that life is temporary.
But understand this clearly: if a person lived unconsciously, no ritual can suddenly awaken them after death. If a person lived consciously, no ritual is needed at all. Awareness is the only true preparation for death.
Fire cannot purify consciousness. Water cannot wash karma. Mantras cannot replace awareness.
The best last rite you can offer someone is this: Live fully, live consciously, live lovingly.
When you burn the body, remember— one day you will be on that pyre too. if that remembrance makes you more alive today, then the ritual has served its real purpose.
Otherwise, it is only tradition—beautiful, but empty. If you are awake, death is just a door. if you are asleep, life itself is already over.
My Greetings to God inside you 🙏
