One twin smaller than the other? 🤰👶👶 Don't panic—here’s the clinical truth.

In a twin pregnancy, it is completely normal to see a small weight gap. Nature doesn't make both babies exactly the same! A difference of 10% to 15% is usually just normal variation.

When should you be concerned?
If the gap hits 20% or more, it is clinically termed Growth Discordance. In shared placenta (MC) twins, this can be a warning sign of sFGR (Selective Fetal Growth Restriction), where one baby isn't getting enough nutrition.

Placenta Previa: Debunking the Myths 🛡️✨
A "low-lying placenta" or "Placenta Previa" diagnosis often leads to immediate worry, but clinical clarity is the best remedy for anxiety. Understanding the difference between myths and medical facts is essential for a safe pregnancy journey.

The Real Facts Behind the Labels:
Early Findings are Normal: A low-lying placenta in the first trimester is a common finding; as your uterus expands, the placenta typically "migrates" higher.

Previa vs. Low-Lying: They aren't the same—"Low-lying" means the placenta is near the cervix, while "Previa" means it completely covers the internal opening.

TVS is Safe: When performed professionally, a Transvaginal Ultrasound (TVS) is 100% safe and actually provides the most precise measurements of placental distance.

Asymptomatic Cases: While bleeding is a known symptom, many patients are completely asymptomatic and are only diagnosed during routine surveillance.

"How many scans do I really need?" is the first question every twin parent asks. 🤰👶👶

The answer depends entirely on whether your babies share a placenta or have their own. In a twin pregnancy, the scanning schedule isn't just about seeing the babies—it's a clinical roadmap for their safety.

For DC Twins (separate placentas), a 4-week interval is usually sufficient to track growth. However, for MC Twins (shared placenta), the risk of vascular shifts means we must see you every 2 weeks from the 16th week onwards.
