Registered doctors of allopathy will now be able to write medical doctor instead of doctor in front of their name in future. The National Medical Commission has made a provision in the draft of the professional code of conduct for doctors registered under the National Medical Commission Act, 2019. Till now many people write doctors in front of the name. Such as registered doctors of Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy, Naturopathy besides Allopathy. Even those who do PhD write doctors. Sometimes people who get an honorary doctorate also write doctors. It is not possible to identify who is a medical doctor.
After the implementation of the new provisions, allopathy doctors will have a separate identity. They will write Medical Doctor next to their name. According to the draft released by the NMC on Monday, if the doctor has come from abroad, then the same degree will be mentioned with the name, which has been approved by the NMC as equivalent to an Indian degree or diploma.
एलोपैथी के पंजीकृत डॉक्टर भविष्य में अपने नाम के आगे डॉक्टर की बजाय अब मेडिकल डॉक्टर लिख सकेंगे। राष्ट्रीय चिकित्सा आयोग ने नेशनल मेडिकल कमीशन एक्ट 2019 के तहत पंजीकृत डॉक्टरों के लिए पेशेवर आचार संहिता का जो मसौदा जारी किया है, उसमें उसका प्रावधान किया है। अभी तक नाम के आगे डॉक्टर कई लोग लिखते हैं। जैसे एलोपैथी के अलावा आयुर्वेद, यूनानी, सिद्ध, होम्योपैथी, प्राकृतिक चिकित्सा के पंजीकृत डॉक्टर। पीएचडी करने वाले भी डॉक्टर लिखते हैं। कई बार जिन्हें डॉक्टरेट की मानद उपाधि मिलती है, वे लोग भी डॉक्टर लिखते हैं। इससे पहचान नहीं हो पाती है कि कौन मेडिकल डॉक्टर है।
नए प्रावधानों के लागू होने के बाद एलोपैथी के डॉक्टरों की अलग पहचान होगी। वे अपने नाम के आगे मेडिकल डॉक्टर लिखेंगे। एनएमसी की तरफ से सोमवार को जारी मसौदे के मुताबिक, यदि डॉक्टर विदेश से पढ़कर आया है तो उसी डिग्री का नाम के साथ उल्लेख होगा, जिसे एनएमसी ने भारतीय डिग्री या डिप्लोमा के समकक्ष मंजूरी दी हो।
