A specialist team of Dr. Ravi Garg from SMH, Pehowa has recently ensured a preterm baby born in just 28weeks, weighing at 800gm was given complete treatment in the hospital till it attained the requisite age. The baby's lungs were underdeveloped. Hence was given surfactant along with artificial breathing by ventilator for 9days followed by CPAP ventilation fr 9days nd additional oxygen support.
Baby's intestine was also immature, therefore, baby was given TPN via central venous catheter after which gradually orogastric feeds were initiated. Another challenge was decreased immunity due to which baby was prone for infections. After long 30days struggle by Dr. Ravi & his team in NICU, baby was discharged successfully and now it's with its joyful parents.
