Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the world’s number one killer. Combined, conditions affecting the heart or blood vessels – such as heart attack, stroke and heart failure – kill more than 20.5 million every year.

We want to bring this number down – way down. And there’s hope: 80% of premature deaths from CVD are preventable. By making small changes to our lifestyle – what we eat and drink, how much we exercise, and how we manage stress

This year’s campaign focuses on motivating every country to have a national action plan for CVD. We know that too many countries do not prioritize heart health. We will send a powerful message to leaders worldwide by calling on everyone to sign the first global petition prioritizing heart health.

"डॉक्टर माझा जरा बीपी चेक करता का ?? "

हे पाणीपुरीवाल्याकडे सगळं खाउन पैसे दिल्यावर सुकी पुरी मागितल्या सारखं असतं...

असा जोक आम्ही डॉक्टरी क्षेत्रातली मंडळी करत असतो...(हे फक्त विनोद म्हणूनच)

माझ्या प्रॅक्टीसच्या सुरुवातीच्या काळात मला पण असंच वाटत होतं...

मग नंतर ब्लडप्रेशरच्या दुष्परिणामांचा socio-economic प्रेशर पॅरेलीसिसच्या पेशंटवर आणि कुटुंबियांवर झालेला जवळून पाहिला तेव्हा मात्र बीपी चेक करा असं सांगितल्यावर सुकी पुरी सारखा फिल मला आजिबात येत नाही...

रक्तदाब तपासणे तसेच उच्च रकतदाब आणि त्याविषयीची योग्य ती माहिती आपण अनुभवी, जाणती डॉक्टरमंडळींनी सगळ्यांना आवर्जून दिली पाहिजे....

असे आज 17 मे 2024 'जागतिक रक्तदाब दिनाच्या' निमित्ताने नमूद करावेसे वाटते...
