Sankalpa (संकल्प) is a Sanskrit word meaning “intention,” “resolve,” or “heartfelt commitment.”

In yoga philosophy and practice, a Sankalpa is a positive affirmation or deep intention set from the heart. It is more than merely a wish, but a conscious statement that aligns your thoughts, words, and actions with your highest truth or purpose.

Meet Kiwi

Teacher & Director, MYT Yoga Taiwan

We are honored to introduce Kiwi, our dedicated teacher and director of MYT Yoga Taiwan. With over 7 years of experience practicing and teaching Ta**ra and Yoga, Kiwi shown phenomenal energy and innovation in launching MYT’s presence in Taiwan and beyond.

As the youngest member of the MYT team, Kiwi embodies a unique blend of passion, dedication, and vision. A true yogi at heart, often described as “born to do this work,” she is deeply committed to guiding students on their path of self-discovery.

Kiwi’s background in physiotherapy allows her to bring a profound understanding of the body into her teachings, ensuring that every practice is both safe and transformative. She is especially passionate about Ta**ra Yoga, mantra chanting, and sharing Risi SriVaso’s vision of awakening across Chinese-speaking communities.

Her authenticity, dedication, and love for the practice shine through in every class, making her an inspiring guide for students stepping onto the path of yoga.

✨ Mālā (माला / mā-lā) ✨

In Sanskrit, mālā means “garland" or "rosary".

Traditionally, it is a length of 108 beads, plus one larger bead known as the guru bead. The number 108 is sacred in yogic philosophy, symbolizing wholeness, cosmic order, and the connection between the individual and the universe.

A mālā is most often used in the practice of japa - the repetition of a mantra, bead by bead. Each bead represents a cycle of sound, vibration, and intention. As your fingers move along the mālā, the mind finds rhythm, the breath slows, and the mantra becomes embodied. This sacred repetition is not about the number of times a mantra is said, but about anchoring awareness in the present moment.

Mālās are also infused with devotion — whether worn as a reminder of practice, or used daily in meditation, they become companions on the inner journey. Over time, the mālā carries the energy of your prayers, intentions, and sādhanā (spiritual practice).

The mālā is more than an object — it is a pathway to presence, a sacred thread connecting sound, spirit, and soul. 🕉️✨

Navratri is the celebration of the Divine Feminine—the power, wisdom, and grace that flows through every being.

🌺 In Kali, we honor our fierce strength.
🌺 In Saraswati, we awaken wisdom and creativity.
🌺 In Lakshmi, we embrace abundance and love.

The Devi is not separate from us.
She lives in our hearts, our voices, our courage, and our compassion.

This Navratri, let us dance with devotion, rise with Shakti, and honor the goddess outside and within. 🌙🔥

🌺🙏 Jai Maa Durga 🙏🌺

Bīja Mantra - बीज मन्त्र

Bīja translates as seed 🌱

These sacred one-syllable sacred sounds carry the essence of divine energy. Just like a seed contains the potential of a whole tree, a bīja holds the power of transformation in vibration.

🌈 Chakra Bīja Mantras:
🔻 Root – Lam (grounding, stability)
💧 Sacral – Vam (creativity, flow)
🔥 Solar Plexus – Ram (power, will)
💚 Heart – Yam (love, compassion)
🔵 Throat – Ham (truth, expression)
👁 Third Eye – Om (intuition)
✨ Crown – Om/Aum (universal consciousness)

💫 Other powerful bījas:
• Hrīm – Divine Feminine energy
• Śrīm – Abundance & beauty
• Om – The universal vibration of creation

🕉️ Chanting even a single bīja mantra can shift your state, align your energy, and deepen your practice.

Chanting and singing are an integral part of our yoga practice and on our yoga teacher trainings you will learn and experience this.
