Here is a case of Giant Skin Tag which was literally a pain in the butt for my patient. After living with it for 35 years she finally decided to have it removed. Fibroepithelial polyps (acrochordon or skin tag) are benign tumors that usually occur in skin folds, such as the axilla, ge***al area or neck. They can be single or multiple. Their dimensions usually do not exceed 1-2 millimeters. But Sometimes, they can reach huge dimensions. A Giant Fibroepithelial polyp is described as, if the lesion is more than 5 cm. Some literature reported lesion more than 42 cm. Although the etiology and the factors that cause excessive growth have not been elucidated, it is stated that obesity and insulin resistance might trigger growth.
