f you feel your gums are bleeding, swollen, painful or sore, then it is not a good sign & you need to do something about it,
Following are some reasons:
1.GUM DISEASE :
Gingivitis or periodontitis can cause your gums to swell, tender & red. This lead to sensitivity, pain & soreness.
2.WRONG BRUSHING :
Many people think that brushing vigorously will make teeth more clean & white, but in reality, it can lead to gingival trauma, irritation, pain, recession & tooth erosion.
3.HORMONES :
Estrogen & progesterone cause more blood to flow to gums, which makes them sensitive & “overreact” to anything.
4.ACIDIC DIET :
Acids break down the tissue of your gums & create corrosion. The weird, painful sensation after eating certain foods means your gums are wearing thin.
5.TOBACCO :
Smoking is an important cause of severe gum disease ,stop it or it will leads to gingival recession.
6.FOOD ALLERGY:
Certain foods might be allergic to different people, if you find there is an allergy with certain food, just avoid it.
7.BURNS:
Sometimes we are so hungry & in hurry that we burn our tongue, gingiva cheeks or lip, Food like pizzas/ coffee /tea are responsible for it.
8.ABSCESSED TOOTH:
It occur due to infection in the tooth, as a result of it, gum swells & hurt. Just get it treated.
9.VITAMIN DEFICIENCY:
Can lead to number of conditions like- SCURVY: it cause swollen & sore gums with other symptoms as well.
10. CANKER SORES:
These are painful mouth ulcers which appears on lip, cheek, tongue & gingiva, they have white coating & they bleed on touch.
11.BRACES /RETAINERS /DENTURES /MOUTH GUARDS :
They could tug, pull or rub against gums contantly which might lead to soreness, bleeding & pain.
12.CHEMOTHERAPY:
Mouth sores usually develop a few days after treatment begins & go away within 2 or 3 weeks after stopping chemotherapy.
13. TOOTHPASTE ALLERGY:
Some people have allergies with the ingredients of mouthwash , toothpaste, just identify the product & discontinue.
14.ORAL CANCER:
Soreness which refuse to heal might be a cancerous lesion, if you have soreness which doesn’t heal in two weeks, VISIT YOUR DENTIST.
