Got a nosebleed? ๐ฉธ
Donโt worry! Itโs a common injury that is not usually considered a sign of danger. Just follow these simple steps and youโll be back in no time: ๐๐
1. Sit up straight and lean slightly forward.
2. Keep your head up while leaning forward as it helps prevent the blood from flowing down your throat, which could lead to unpleasant choking or an upset tummy.
3. Gently hold your nose from the soft, non-bony part on both sides.
4. Don't put all the pressure on one side, even if the bleeding seems to be happening there.
5. Press on the nose for at least 5 minutes for children, and 10 to 15 minutes for adults. Don't release the pressure to check if it's stopped until the time's up.
6. If the bleeding hasn't stopped after 15 minutes, apply an ice pack or cold compress to the bridge of your nose, which can constrict the blood vessels and help bring the blood flow to a stop.
However, if youโre still bleeding beyond 20 to 30-minute mark, itโs time to see a doctor. ๐ฉบ
