Intermittent Fasting: The downside and potential problems
While IF offers many potential benefits, it's not suitable for everyone and has some potential drawbacks:
• Hunger and Cravings: Especially during the initial adjustment phase.
• Fatigue and Low Energy: The body needs time to adapt to using fat for fuel instead of glucose.
• Social and Lifestyle Constraints: May be challenging to adhere to during social gatherings or when eating out.
• Nutrient Deficiency: If not planned well, leading to inadequate intake of essential nutrients during eating windows.
• Overeating: The risk of overindulging during eating periods, negating the benefits.
• Not for Everyone: It is generally not recommended for:
o Pregnant or breastfeeding women.
o Individuals with a history of eating disorders.
o People with certain medical conditions, especially diabetes, without strict medical supervision.
o Children and adolescents.
