Valedictory Message 🙏
On successfully conducting and completing the SymbiosisAWRcon 2021
On behalf of the organizing Committee of the Symbiosis AWRcon It is my privilege to be given this opportunity to deliver this Valedictory message to all participants.
From the time Dr Samrat Jankar and Dr Kedar Patil first mooted the idea of conducting this national level conference. Slowly things began to fall into place with numerous agencies joining us in this exhilarating journey. The last few days have been super charged with countless coordination conferences across geographical boundaries to bring this conference to fruition and while we were just beginning to enjoys it it’s come to its conclusion. All good things come to an end and we will all suffer from a sense of emptiness on completion of this conference. We developed an emotional bond working together the last few months and it was a fantastic team building exercise.
I would like to express my gratitude to our Dr. Rajiv Yeravdekar Dean FOHS, with his eye for detail whose guided us on the minutest of details motivating us to put in the effort to bring this conference to shape that we see today, in the organization of this conference. With only one expectation and that being living up to the Symbiosis Ethos of making it a healthy blend of academic interaction and practical learning and mentoring of young minds by the experts.
I thank Dr Vijay Natarajan our CEO and Dr Khushali Ratra our Director ops. who provided us with all the logistic support for smooth conduct of this conference and brought with them the wisdom of their experience. They facilitated smooth conduct of the conference by ensuring coordination of amongst all agencies & stake holders in the conduct of this conference.
Dr Jyotsna Kulkarni and Dr Ramesh Dumbre as chairperson and Co chairperson watched over us with parently love letting us take the baby steps and holding our hands gently whenever we appeared to stumble. Thanks Sir and Ma’m for you guidance.
I am thankful to Dr. B Ramana, Dr Ramesh Punjani and Dr Rahul Mahadar and the Core committee of AWR surgeons committee for believing in us and giving us the opportunity to host this conference. We interacted with them on multiple Zoom meets and guided us though designing the scientific program with the goal of imparting everything there is to know in contemporary hernia Surgery as our theme implied.
I also Thank Our Dean Col Dr Vijaya Sagar Sir for providing us this venue and his whole hearted support & Guidance and our MS Dr Mohan Jadhav for his valuable inputs. Brig Gopi Iyer & His BVG Staff for the logistic support.
Our team of Surgeons led by our org secretary and our HOD Dr Pankaj, Dr Avishkar, Dr Raiba, Dr Rutik, Dr Zohar, Dr Piyush,Dr Ravi Gitte, Dr Tushar More Dr Nikita, Dr Aditya Pawar, Ms Rachna have toiled relentlessly for the last few months during this ongoing pandemic to plan, organize and execute this meet. Their chemistry in functioning together was amazing and infectious and their energies so invigorating reminding us of our good old days as youngsters.
I would like to express my gratitude to all the faculty & moderators of various sessions for bringing & showcasing their expertise and sharing their vast knowledge & experience.
I thank all the delegates for their presence & contribution to make Symbiosis AWRcon a great success.
This conference would have been impossible without our main all our Anaesthetist led By Dr Jui Geet and her team; OT staff & anaesthesia, & ICU team led by Dr Urvi Shukla without whom the workshop would not have been possible. Our Nursing Team coordinated so well in ensuring proper documentation and movement of patients to and from the OT. in conjecture with our residents and senior faculty
I thank the Dr Abhijit Patil HOD Radiology for CT conduct and interpretation of CT scans. Anatomy dept. offering us their demo hall for our paper, poster, video competition and all other dept of SMCW and SUHRC.
A special thanks for the MBA student volunteer who assisted the team during the entire process.

And last but never the least I thank God Almighty for seeing us all safely through these testing Covid times when we were constantly apprehensive to be able to safely complete this conference.
Wishing all the outstation faculty and delegates a safe journey back home. And looking forward to our next interaction.
