In Gujarat, everyone celebrates by saying ‘Ae Haalo!’ and the country's youth celebrates by saying ‘Ae Phoonko !’ .
What is happening right now in the country? Why are institutions the major hub where everyone is smoking up and getting high? What is their urge to do so?
According to a study, it was found that around 22% of the Indian adults (between the age group 18-25) use contrabands.
Ma*****na, w**d, pot, dope, grass. They’re different names for the same drug that comes from the cannabis plant. You can smoke it, v**e it, drink it, or eat it. Most folks use ma*****na for pleasure and recreation. But a growing number of doctors prescribe it for specific medical conditions and symptoms.
Ma*****na has mind-altering compounds that affect both your brain and body. It can be addictive, and it may be harmful to some people’s health.
But what is the reason behind them for doing drugs?
1) Peer Pressure – When young adults adjusts to high school, college or a new job , they form new friendships and there is transformation in their personality. This is the first time, when they get introduced to drugs and they find it difficult to deny consuming it because they are sitting with their friends, and what will their friends think, their friendship might get weaker with them and hence, they hang out and chill with them. Soon, what was an occasional thing becomes a habit and young adults become drug addicted.
2) Easy Access to all of these - Unfortunately for a growing number of today's young adults, obtaining contrabands is becoming even easier, as more states make it legal for medical and recreational use.
3) For pleasure - Young people may also use contrabands to feel good, ease boredom, relieve tension or frustration, seek deeper insights, escape problems, or to increase (or decrease) the effects of other drugs.
