Neck pain can be caused due to various reasons among which few of the causative factors are:
🔶Poor Posture: Too long working hours in front of the laptop, extensive use of mobile phone in uncomfortable positions related to your head and neck, bad sleeping posture, using the wrong size pillow, working in the kitchen with the kitchen platform either too high or too low could be few of the causes for the poor posture. This poor posture creates muscle imbalance in the neck which results in overstretching on one side of the neck muscles and shortening on the other side. Poor posture can give rise to symptoms like stiffness in the upper back area, headache, discomfort etc.
🔶Aging causes some changes in the neck bones and the disc. Due to this the nerves which are coming out from the spinal cord may get pinched. And we get to hear this as” Cervical Spondylosis” from the doctors. In this case you may feel neck pain, tingling sensation/ Numbness coming down to the arm and down towards your hand.
🔶Prolapsed Disc: Bulging happens to the part of the human spine called a disc. This condition is called as pr*****ed disc.The chances of pr*****ed disc in the neck are comparatively lesser than that of the lower back. However any direct trauma in the neck region can cause a pr*****ed disc which may irritate the nerves and that's when you get the pain in the arm.
