that’s why babies can’t walk, crawl, or even sit unassisted for months.

during those first 3 months outside the womb, babies cry an average of 2–3 hours a day.

not because they’re “spoiled,” but because their nervous systems are still unfinished.

their heart rates regulate when they’re against your chest.
their breathing evens out when they hear your voice.
their stress hormones drop simply from your touch.

and yet mothers are told, “don’t hold them too much, you’ll spoil them.”

but the truth is,
you’re not spoiling your baby.
