The Department of Immunohematology and Blood Transfusion, Bharati Hospital, Dhankwadi, Pune proudly shares a significant achievement in advancing pediatric cancer patient care at our centre.
We have successfully conducted the 14th pediatric peripheral stem cell harvest on 24/03/2026, among which this marks the 8th autologous PBSC harvest primarily for children diagnosed with solid tumours such as neuroblastoma, retinoblastoma, and germ cell tumours.
👶💉 These procedures mark a crucial step in the journey toward recovery, enabling high-dose chemotherapy followed by autologous stem cell transplantation—all accomplished seamlessly through coordinated, multidisciplinary teamwork.
🔬 Our role extended beyond stem cell harvest:
✔️ Ensuring safe and efficient collection and processing including cryopreservation of the collected harvest
✔️ Maintaining stringent quality standards
✔️ Providing comprehensive transfusion support
🩸Post-transplant, our department continued to stand by these young warriors by delivering timely and appropriate blood components and blood product support.
