Dr. Gunvantrai Ganpatlal Parikh, aged 101, a revered freedom fighter, socialist, and true Gandhian, passed away in the early hours of October 2, 2025, due to age-related causes. A stalwart of the freedom struggle, he was imprisoned during both the Quit India Movement and the Emergency, yet remained unwavering in his pledge to serve the people until his last breath. Honouring a lifelong vow made with his late wife, fellow freedom fighter Mangalaben Parikh, his family donated his body to JJ Hospital.

Founder of the Yusuf Meherally Centre and the Indian Institute for Critical Studies in Mumbai, Dr. Parikh dedicated his life to empowering the labour movement, spreading socialist democratic values, and inspiring the youth to work towards grassroots social change. His simplicity, courage, and lifelong commitment to justice and equality will continue to shine as a guiding light for generations to come. May his noble soul rest in peace.

A Naturopathy Cookery Workshop on Healthy Snacking was conducted at Nisarg Gram on 4th October 2025, under the banner of Poshan Maah. The session focused on preparing healthy and delicious snack items with a nutritional twist.

The items prepared during the workshop included:
1. Jowar Besan Lauki Muthiya
2. Mixed Sprout Palak Patty
3. Ragi Idli Burger
4. Ragi Malt
5. Ragi Chivda
6. Soaked Peanut Chana Salad
7. Dates and Coconut Bites

Around 60 participants attended the workshop, including IPD/OPD patients, interns, and TATC students. Participants enjoyed the session and Appreciated the taste of snacks.

“Shri Pratap Rao Jadhav, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) & Health and Family Welfare, graced Nisarggram with his esteemed presence today. During his visit, he inaugurated the Living Gandhi Memorial—a unique tribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s life and philosophy. In remembrance of Bapu, he offered his respects by spinning the Charkha, symbolizing simplicity, self-reliance, and the spirit of Swadeshi.

The Hon’ble Minister also interacted warmly with the students and staff of Nisarggram, inspiring them with his words and encouragement. As part of the programme, he planted saplings on the campus, reaffirming the commitment to sustainability and ecological harmony.

In observance of Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan, he further distributed Poshan Kits to female students, emphasizing the importance of nutrition and women’s health.

🌸 Poshan Maah 2025 Workshop at Dimbhe 🌸

In celebration of Poshan Maah 2025, a workshop was held for ASHA workers and Anganwadi women at Dimbhe! 🙌

Participants learned about the importance of fasting, healthy diet choices, daily routines, and menstrual hygiene🌱

A total of 32 women joined in, and everyone received nutritious laddus to support their health journey! 🍽️💪
