Today is World Cancer Day.
India will see almost 20 million new cancer cases this year and about 9 lakh cancer deaths. It is predicted to increase to 35 million cases each year by 2050. We must be aware of this disease to fight it successfully
Symptoms of Cancer:
1. Change in bowel or bladder habits
2. A sore that does not heal
3. Unusual bleeding or discharge
4. Thickening or lump in the breast or elsewhere
5. Indigestion or difficulty in swallowing
6. Obvious change in a wart or mole
7. Nagging cough or hoarseness

Hello everyone!
In these difficult times of the COVID pandemic, I have a few words to say.
Right now we are in the middle of a Covid pandemic. All elective surgeries are being postponed in all hospitals. Only emergency surgeries are being done.
Cancer is a relative emergency for the patient. Cancer patients cannot wait for their surgery as the cancer can spread or stage of the cancer can advance, where surgery then has to be cancelled.
I am therefore telling this to all my patients and you all out there, that I am available for all cancer operations in select hospitals at present. We are taking all the necessary precautions like PPEs for the patient, doctors and the nursing team during surgeries. Each patient is being tested for COVID before the surgery. Patients are being admitted in separate wards away from the general patients.
In short, we are offering a safe and well protected environment for cancer surgeries, in select hospitals, having the infrastructure to handle all these patients.
So don’t cancel or postpone your cancer treatments.
