Diabetic foot clinic is an initiative by Dr. Manisha Deshmukh, M.D. Her special interests lie in the foot care of diabetic patients. It all started after her selection for the World Diabetes Foundation and the International Working Group on Diabetic Foot's prestigious project 'STEP BY STEP'. She was the only physician from Pune and one among 8 from Maharashtra. She has been trained in basic and advanced courses in Diabetic Foot Care organised in Mumbai for two consecutive years. Received the best case presentation award in the West Zone from the World Diabetes Foundation (WDF) in the advanced course. She was selected for advanced training in Germany through the project and was one amongst 10 physicians sent to Germany from India. She trained in Germany for three weeks in the field of prevention and management of diabetic foot. She is a Fellow of Diabetic Foot Clinic , Kings College Hospital, London in 2011


She has been conducting patient education programmes on diabetic foot problems at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital,Pune in the form of lectures and slide shows followed by free examination camps every quarter as an on going activity for the last 3 years. ACHIEVEMENTS :

Poster on Causes of Recurrences of Foot Ulcers in Diabetic Patients selected for International Diabetes Federation Conference in Dubai in 2011. Received the Best Poster Presentation award in RSSDI conference (Maharashtra chapter) - 2006 prepared on diabetic foot profile.
