Most people think losing the “baby weight” is just about willpower.

Meanwhile new moms are out here sleeping in 90-minute intervals and somehow still expected to glow.

When Esha joined the BHM program when her baby was just 3 months old. She was tired, breastfeeding, and stuck at 65.5 kg.

10 simple things you can do NOW to boost your energy instantly - Especially for Working Mothers

1. Eat a protein-rich breakfast 3+ days a week.
Eggs, paneer bhurji, moong chilla, curd + fruit, oats with nuts. It sets the tone for the rest of your day instead of letting caffeine run the show.

2. Eat something before your tea or coffee.
Even a banana + handful of nuts or curd + fruit works. Keeps your energy stable instead of crashing by 11 am.

3. Add seeds daily.
Chia, flax, sunflower, pumpkin.
Throw into oats, curd, upma, poha, smoothies, or dal.

4. Lean on shortcuts like a normal adult with limited time.
Pre-cut veggies, frozen peas/corn, idli/dosa batter, curd, paneer cubes, rotisserie-style grilled chicken, ready-to-eat dals. It’s called being efficient, not “cheating.”

5. Use iodized salt, nothing fancy.
Basic household salt gets the job done. No need for pink/black/ Himalayan drama unless you like the taste.

6. Keep easy proteins ready to go.
Boiled eggs, paneer cubes, tofu, curd/Greek yogurt, roasted chana, chicken sausage, canned chickpeas/rajma.

7. Stock beans and lentils for quick meals.
Rajma, chole, dal, chana, lobia.
Toss into salads, stir-fries, wraps, or mix into rice for instant fiber + protein.

8. Keep high-fiber foods within reach.
Apples, pears, bananas, oats, whole-wheat bread, rotis with bran, millets, carrots, cucumbers, chia, flax, sprouts, popcorn, almonds.

9. Eat every 3–4 hours (stop skipping).
Quick rescue combos: fruit + curd, roasted chana + nuts, paneer cubes, peanut butter toast, egg roll, yogurt bowl, khakhra + cheese.

10. Build ONE balanced meal a day.
Protein + fiber-rich carbs + veggies + healthy fat.
Examples:
• Egg omelette + veg upma
• Paneer bhurji + roti + salad
• Dal + rice + sabzi + ghee
• Grilled chicken + roti + veggies
• Veg khichdi + curd

In Tanya’s Words - Thank you so much Dr Anil. I started at 112 kg and finally came down to a 2-digit number… 96.kgs. After 13 years, seeing that 2-digit weight feels amazing. I feel fresh, motivated, and confident again. I don’t feel lazy anymore, I’ve become active, and even with steroids I’ve been able to lose weight. My stamina has improved and I’m able to exercise, and all of this would not have been possible without you.

Being a chronic lung patient with only 50% lung functioning, I doubted myself so many times. There were days I felt disappointed with myself. But you always guided me, motivated me, and reminded me not to look only at the weighing scale but to see how much I was improving overall. From taking 6 mg steroids to now just 1 mg… it feels like a miracle. Even my doctor said he is surprised and asked me to continue whatever I am doing.

You suggested strength training along with the diet, and that has helped me so much.

Fat mass was 45 kg, now 36 kg (9 kg down)
Overall body score was 38, now 52
Subcutaneous fat was 40%, now 35%
Skeletal muscle mass was 23.7, now 27.7
