PhysioCare's INSPIRE - 1
Meet Mr. Anil, working as a car driver with a family since last 17 years. Suddenly one night he experiences seizure attack (fits) after which he seeked medical help at a hospital in Pune. Further investigations revealed that he had a space occupying lesion (lump or mass) in his brain which has to be removed surgically. A team of neurologists, neurosurgeons and neurophysiotherapists took amazing care of him when he was admitted in the hospital. Upon discharge, he was adviced to continue physiotherapy and thats when he came to our clinic.
He presented with monoparesis, poor motor control of his entire left hand (please note that being a driver, his left hand and its control and coordination is extremely important for him to change gears) and sensory issues (he never used to understand even if his left hand was under his body the entire night).
Upon meeting, his only request was, "my sir recently passed away when i was admitted in hospital and my ma'am is all alone. Since i am their oldest employee, they trust me and need me as a driver. All the doctors are saying that you MAY NEED TO ATLEAST 6 MONTHS TO GO BACK TO YOUR JOB. But I need to go soon!" We assured him that we will our level best but looking at the clinical picture, 5-6 months would be needed."
And so we started with our sessions on 16th August 2018...
WE WERE REALLY AMAZED TO SEE HIS DEDICATION, HIS WILL POWER, HIS PERFECTION TO FOLLOW THE EXERCISE ROUTINE AT HOME AND LIFESTYLE CHANGES AND INSTRUCTIONS....
In the first month itself there was such considerable improvement in all aspects that we made him sit in the car started giving him gear-changing practice in a simulated environment. Then made him drive under strict supervision in a controlled environment and on 1st October 2018, HE JOINED HIS JOB BACK AS A DRIVER...
Our happiness knew no bounds... We will always wish Mr. Anil a healthy, happy life...
