Indian Association Of Ayurvedic Pediatrics

Indian Association Of Ayurvedic Pediatrics Indian Association of Ayurvedic Pediatrics (IAAP) was established in 2008. Kaumarbhritya (Ayurvedic Pediatrics) is one of these specialties.

Ayurveda, a science of healthy and happy life is divided in eight main branches or specialties. Kaumarbhritya (Ayurvedic Pediatrics) has been there since time immemorial. Maharshi Kashyapa (600 BC), the father of Pediatrics has developed this specialty and authored a text ‘Kashyap Samhita’. The Ayurvedic Pediatric deals with holistic health care of children, to have better progeny and healthy society. It focuses on all the aspects of nursing and healthy upbringing of newborns, infants and children. Irrational use of antibiotics and steroids, drug resistance, deranged food habits, increasing lifestyle oriented diseases, working parents, health problems of couples are the main challenges we face today. All these need an urgent intervention of holistic child health care system and Ayurvedic Pediatrics seems to be the best answer for all these.
