Knee Osteoarthritis is one of the most common and painful condition seen in older individuals.
It is a degenerative condition which causes pain, reduced range of motion, difficulty in stair climbing or carrying out other functional daily activities.
Physiotherapy plays an important role in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis by reduction of pain and improving range of motion of the knee joint by various manual therapy techniques, strengthening the muscles of the lower body and core thus ensuring that there is no muscle imbalance . It also helps in improving the gait ( walking pattern ) of the individual.
Physiotherapy will ensure that there is no further progression of the degenerative process and make you functionally independent in carrying out your activities.

June marks the month of Scoliosis Awareness.
Scoliosis is a type of spinal deformity where there is an 'S' or 'C' shaped curvature of the spine. It can be either structural where it is a fixed deformity or it can be non-structural (functional ) type of deformity,
Physiotherapy treatment for Scoliosis will basically cater to working on the muscle imbalances, improving the strength of the weak muscles, improving the length of the tight structures and hence improving the overall function of the individual.
So, Let's all celebrate Scoliosis awareness month by making people aware about this condition with early detection , educating people about this and working towards betterment of such patients.
