Four months ago, our special friends planted groundnut seeds in the kitchen garden in Marunji. They nurtured the plants with love and care. And in the process, they learnt about watering, sunlight and the importance of patience and consistency.

This garden thus turned out to be more than just an exercise in farming. It was a lesson in responsibility, teamwork and the joy of seeing hard work yield something beautiful.

Finally, the much-awaited harvest day arrived! After hours of teamwork and excitement, our special friends proudly harvested a rich yield of groundnuts. Later, everyone enjoyed steamed groundnuts for evening snacks. The joy doubled when they shared the yield our Talegaon friends.

Spreading Light & Awareness

On October 22, Mr. Sonawane, Police Inspector and Head of the Hinjewadi Traffic Department, visited Navksh*tij along with his team to celebrate Diwali with our special friends.
He first met our special friends during a street play we had organised at the Hinjewadi Chowk on Gandhi Jayanti. He had then appreciated our work and promised to visit us during Diwali. True to his word, he joined us at our Marunji campus, making the celebration even more special.

Moments like these remind us why outreach activities matter — to connect people, build understanding and spread awareness about intellectual disabilities.

Doorbit Foundation, a well-wisher and supporter, launched a new initiative this year by connecting with Pawar Public School.

Students from Pawar Public School contributed grocery items and other essentials for our resident PwIDs. This contribution is beyond monetary value — it’s about nurturing social responsibility and compassion among young minds.

The students also enjoyed an interactive session with our special friends, learning about intellectual disability and the importance of inclusion in society.

Our heartfelt thanks to Doorbit Foundation and Pawar Public School for this wonderful collaborative effort!

Health Check-up Camp at Marunji

With the support of Hinjewadi Hospital, we organised a Health Check-up Camp at our Marunji centre on October 11. All our special friends were thoroughly examined by the team of doctors.

This month, TT injection was also administered to everyone. Giving injections is often the toughest task as some of our friends feel anxious or scared — but thanks to the patience and dedication of our team of caretakers, the camp was completed successfully and smoothly.

Thank you, Hinjewadi Hospital, for your valuable support and care!
