Instead of treating one emotion better over another, if we understand and focus on Why each emotion arises, what job it has and how may we work with them, it helps in a healthier approach of self and mental state regulation. 🧠🙌
Every emotion has a purpose and is an important part of our development and well-being. ✅
Emotions have a deep impact on our Mental Health and therefore requires a thorough understanding;
And the work to improve our Emotional Intelligence, helps foster a good Mental Health. 🧠✨
Over the next course, we will be diving into some of the emotions to understand and regulate our states better. 🎉

We had an exciting time talking about the initiative to bring Mental Health as a subject and learning mechanism at the educational institutions.
Education will always be an empowerment. We always learn. The students are first hand recipients of the curriculum and it is only vital that Mental Health teachings reach them through that medium.
The earlier, the better.
We are doing our bit in bridging that gap and there are so many others too; this is a collective development goal. ✨🎉

Often, we say we are worried, stressed, feeling anxious. More times than often, we don’t realise the actual state. Although these are closely related, here are some important differences to be aware of in order to have a clear understanding of our Mental State and associated emotions. 🧠🌱

Educate me to Share.

Give me Vulnerability literacy.
Show me it’s Ok to Cry and break and not just steer and calculate.

It’s not a “It’s nothing, Get Over It!”
It needs to be diagnosed, treated, worked upon, counselled, implementation of practices, Meditated, and recommended medication too if required because there could be neurological changes which need a medical intervention to recover - And all of this - any of this - Is Ok and needs to be Talked Upon as such! 🙂 •
Sharing Mental Health Awareness across, is a first step towards letting someone know about Healing. 🧡
And we are establishing roots into Awareness, Support & Counselling as much! 💛

In the current uncertain and mass effected times of Pandemic, the Mental Health has taken a bigger toll than before.

The UN published a report On Policy Brief and Covid-19 with key points as :
- Covid-19 is the seed of a major mental health crises
- People with severe mental conditions die 10-20 years earlier than the general population.
- Those who previously had few experiences of anxiety and distress, may experience an increase in number
and intensity of these and some have developed a mental health condition.
- Effects of COVID-19 on the brain are of concern. The social consequences of the pandemic may affect brain health development in young children and adolescents and cognitive
decline in the older population.
- Globally there is less than 1 mental health professional for every 10,000 people.

These, among others are indispensable areas where support is needed at the utmost.

We recently put up a quiz asking the audience a few questions about Depression; Where the hot question turned out to be if there is a gender gap in depression? 64 percent answered in negative.
Although this was a small poll, There is a large unawareness among general public wrt mental health.
Here are some facts :
1. There is a gender gap in Depression.
2. Globally, women suffer with depression twice as likely than men.
3. The most preferred treatment is seeing a health professional and taking prescription medication as treatments.

Our minds are bombarded with the constant worries like our productivity, cognitive capabilities, our social connections, economic and financial status, body's physical health etc.
Every once in a while, we need to do self reflection to be able to address and improve on these terms.
