HOW TO SAVE YOUR HAIR THIS HOLI...

In India Holi is one of the most important and big festival, and the joy it brings with it, the family bonding the "masti" the "dhamaal" is all unique. But on this festival of happiness something that might happen to your most precious asset your hair is not good.

Most of the Holi colour, used by most of us ,contain harmful dyes and chemicals, they can cause the hair to get too dry, turn frizzy or show extensive fall and some times an allergic rash which itches and burns.

You can take certain steps, at least to minimise these happenings to your self.

1. Ask your friends and family to use organic colours, from natural sources.

2 . Do not put colour powder on anybodies scalp, this may result in contact dermatitis. It may clog the openings of sebaceous glands and cause infection.

3 . Before going to play Holi, better apply some coconut oil or Vaseline to the scalp in adundence to form, a protective layer there.

4 . Otherwise you can cover your scalp with a shower cap also.

5. A quick wash of the hair as soon as colour falls on them, also helps in saving you from bad effects.

So, take a good care, and enjoy the festival. .HAPPY HOLI. ..

Rain has always infatuated all of us, All the human race, has a great craving for rainy season, being a season of delight it's also life pouring for an agricultural country India.

But the season issues ticket to many health Skin and Hair problems, which need special care and cure.

Most commonly the Skin becomes too moist and oily, paving way for Dandruff and other Seboric conditions, one must take a very special care of the Skin and hair in the season.

DANDRUFF - Dandruff becomes very common in rainy season, as increased moisture and sweat, makes favourable conditions for fungal colonies to thrive, the first Symptom---is itchy scalp, more so in the nights, this is soon followed by irritation an small multiple pus points over the scalp, this is associated with moderate to severe Hair Loss, this usually is the time when a patient really starts bothring himself.

Fungal Infection can also come from your Old long used caps , or Helmets too, you should change them regularly, so as your pillow covers.

Frequently travelling individuals must mind the Hygiene of the back head support, you should never be hesitant in asking for a new cover from the Air Hostesses.

SHAMPOO - Frequency of using shampoo should be increased by One and a half times to Two times in the Rainy season, as the moisture, heat /temperature and sebum ( natural oil of skin )all are increased this season, and thus as a Specialist I advocate more use of the Shampoo.

THOSE WHO HAVE PETS --For all those who harbour pets, at our places, there are more cautious to be exercised than others, usually do not let your pet wet too much, wash hands two times with Carbolic Soap, after cuddling your pet, as his/her skin, is harbouring lot more of bacteria and fungus, in this season.

THE INDIAN DIABETIC --Diabetic should be more careful than the general population, all they are more prone to catch infections of fungal /bacterial origen, and they are difficult to treat as well, if infected.
They should keep their Hair, Skin and Arm pits, usually Dry, they can use telcum and antifungal powders, where ever possible. They should not neglect any symptoms.

THE GERIATRIC /OLD--An attitude, that I have gone old, and I am shy to visit, an expert, in spite of hair loss and Skin problems, is not correct, and needs to be left.

THE EXTENDED TELOGEN --Like in trees, the human body /scalp also shows Autumn season, (like plants shed leaves, once a year ),we also shed, our Older hair, but our cycle may be less or more than Once a year, if you some how get a Telogen phase, in the rainy seasons, it's going to be worse than other seasons.

Kindly treat your hair well, they make you look good and add to your face value, boost your self esteem, and enjoy a marvellous Monsoon this year.

Hair loss is probably the one thing that causes men more anxiety than anything else in their lives. A receding hairline or the arrival of a bald patch can have a dramatic effect on men’s confidence and self-image.

Nutritions

Fish, eggs and beans

Hair is primarily made of protein and, therefore, it makes sense to eat a protein-rich diet if you’re trying to maintain your healthy hair. However, eating a steak every day isn’t going to help you. High-fat diets will result in increased testosterone levels, which has been linked to hair loss — so steaks are not among the foods that prevent hair loss. Stick to leaner proteins such as fish (which has a myriad of health benefits beyond just maintaining your hair), chicken, calf’s liver, brewer’s yeast, low-fat cheese, eggs, almonds, beans, and yogurt. Soy milk and tofu are also smart to add to your diet because they are high in protein and low in bad fats.

Raisins

Iron plays a key role in manufacturing hemoglobin, the part of the blood that carries oxygen to your body’s organs and tissues. When your hemoglobin is at a healthy level, oxygen is properly dispersed. This means your scalp is getting a good flow of blood, which will stimulate and promote hair growth. Adding more iron to your diet doesn’t mean you have to feast on liver day in, day out, but when you’re craving something sweet, remember that dried fruits (like raisins) and cherry juice are packed with iron. Eggs; dates; raisins; dark green, leafy vegetables such as kale; and whole-grain cereals are all high in iron. Vitamin C improves the absorption of iron, so fruits such as oranges, strawberries and lemons should be on your grocery list of foods that prevent hair loss.

Bean sprouts

Silica may not be a word you commonly hear associated with diet (or foods that prevent hair loss, for that matter). If you’re looking to promote hair growth and prevent hair loss, however, silica will need to be on your menu. The body uses silica to help it absorb vitamins and minerals; if you’re not consuming silica, eating your vitamins might not be helping much. Silica can be found in bean sprouts and the skin of cucumbers, red and green peppers, and potatoes. Remember, when you eat these foods raw, as opposed to cooked, you’re getting more nutritional value out of them.

If you want to keep it, you’d be wise to eat foods that prevent hair loss.

Many men who suffer from hair loss are found to have zinc deficiencies. Zinc plays a key role in many of the body’s functions, from cell reproduction to hormonal balance, and all these functions affect hair growth. Perhaps most importantly, zinc manages the glands that attach to your hair follicles. When you’re low on zinc, these follicles become weak, causing strands to break off or fall out. To combat this problem, eat zinc-heavy foods such as red meats, poultry, mussels, shrimp, nuts, and oysters. Excessive amounts of zinc can eventually lead to hair loss, so it’s best to stick to a zinc-heavy diet rather than eat these foods and take a zinc supplement.

Potatoes

It may be tempting to eat fast food, but greasy foods are among the worst culprits for hair loss. If you have a craving for a burger and fries, your best bet is to cook the burger yourself and dice, season and bake some potato wedges (leaving the skins on) to go along with it. Try to limit your intake of excessively cold, spicy and sugary foods as well. These can tax your body, and when your body’s fighting something unhealthy, it’s not functioning at its peak level.

Balanced diet

Just as your overall health will benefit from eating a balanced diet, so too should the health of your hair. Once it’s gone, it’s gone, so don’t put foods in your body that speed up hair loss. You may be experiencing a thinning on top already, but you can counteract this (or at least slow it down) by eating from every food group daily — concentrating on foods that are rich in protein, iron, silica, and zinc.
