Strawberry legs — also known as strawberry skin legs — occur when the hair follicles or pores are clogged with accumulation of dead skin, bacteria or oil. The spots are harmless and usually don’t itch or cause pain.
These appear due to various reasons like
Shaving - Using an old, dull razor or shaving without shaving cream can harm your skin, causing razor burn or strawberry legs. It can also result in ingrown hairs, which can appear as strawberry legs.
Folliculitis - Folliculitis is a common skin infection often caused by an infected or inflamed (swollen) hair follicle. It can occur due to shaving, waxing or excess sweating, especially in hot and humid conditions.
Clogged pores - Pores are the tiny openings on the skin that release oil and sweat, helping cool your body. Sometimes, they can become clogged by bacteria, dead skin, oil or dirt. Excessive oil application can also clog the pores.

Follow these simple tips to care for your skin and hair.

1) Wear loose cotton clothes and clothes that dry easily. Wearing wet/ moist clothes increases the chances of fungal infections.
2) Wear open footwear while traveling to work. Wearing wet shoes through the day causes fungal growth in feet.
3) Use talcum powder as it absorbs moisture. Repeat it if you sweat during daytime.
4) If you have oily scalp, wash it twice a week as the moisture can lead to fungal growth on the scalp which can increase dandruff issues.
5) If you have long commute to work, keep a spare pair of clothes and shoes to prevent chances of fungal infection and also allergic reactions.
6) Never skip use of sunscreen even when it's cloudy outside or you are indoors. Make sure to apply the sunscreen daily in the morning.
