Diwali Skin Care!
With Diwali right around the corner, from early morning pujas to evening family get-togethers, you need to stay radiant and energised at all times. But, given the hectic lives we lead, it’s nearly impossible to follow a disciplined skin routine. Here are some awesome Diwali skin care tips to prep and pamper your skin before, during and after the festive season and you'll be lighting up every room you walk into!
1. Double Cleanse
All the pollution and dirt clogs up your skin, making it look dull. The best way to ensure that your skin and your pores are squeaky clean would be to double cleanse. Once you get home, use a cleansing oil or micellar water to get rid of all your makeup and skincare products. Follow this up with a cleanser based on your skin type. If you have oily skin, use a cleanser that deep cleanses your pores. If you have dry skin, use a hydrating cleanser.
2. Scrub Bath
Follow your grandmother’s recipe of a healthy scrub bath on the morning of Diwali with the choicest nourishing scrubs available in the market. They help in exfoliating the dead skin cells and stimulating the blood circulation, which gives a fresh look to the skin.
3. Multi-Mask
Given the pollution and the amount of makeup you would be wearing during the festive season, using the right face masks will work wonders for your skin! You want to indulge in a good face mask every week or so.
4. Insta-Facials
Head over to your dermatologist and ask them for a quick microdermabrasion facial. It will get rid of all the dead skin cells on your face while leaving your skin looking soft and bright. Insta-facials are meant to be a quick 20-minute rejuvenation procedures. Results last for anywhere between 1-3 weeks.
5. Eyecare Tip:
To brighten tired eyes, take two used tea bags, soak them in a little warm water, squeeze out the water and apply on the eyes like eye pads. Cotton wool, soaked in rose water, can also do the trick.
6. Haircare tips:
* During Diwali, we do experiment with different hair styles and they also become exposed to pollution. Washing hair with rosemary lavender shampoo will provide it with the kind of nutrition that hair needs to become voluminous and get the bounce it needs.
* After the wash, let it dry and apply Moroccan argan oil as a post-bath serum. It gives your hair an attractive shine, restores and strengthens damaged hair, protects it from heat of hair dryers, curlers and flat irons.
* Do not use mousse on hair. If you do, wash it off at night or the next morning.
Stay Safe, Stunning, Healthy and Enjoy the Festivities.
