As someone deeply invested in mental health, I truly believe that the future of India also depends on the mental well-being of its studentsโespecially those in rural areas, where access to such conversations is limited.
Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to engage with the bright and enthusiastic students of ๐๐ก๐๐ญ๐ก ๐๐ฒ๐จ๐ญ๐ข๐ฉ๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐๐ ๐๐๐ก๐๐ฏ๐ข๐๐ฒ๐๐ฅ๐๐ฒ, ๐๐๐ฎ๐ง๐, at an event organized by Unwind Mental Healthcare Foundation, ๐๐ง๐ฐ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ง๐ ๐๐ก๐๐ฉ๐ญ๐๐ซโa Youth-led nonprofit advocating for mental health across India.

Academic pressure is more intense than ever. Students juggle expectations, performance anxiety, peer competition, and personal strugglesโall while navigating an uncertain future. Yet, mental well-being remains a low priority in many educational spaces.

The event wasnโt just about sharing insightsโit was about engaging, interacting, and breaking the silence around mental health. ๐๐ง๐ฐ๐ข๐ง๐โ๐ฌ team of passionate youth-led activities made sure students didnโt just listen but participated, reflected, and walked away with practical strategies.

Letโs keep the conversation going! What are some strategies that have helped you or someone you know deal with academic stress? Letโs share and support each other. ๐
As the Founder of My Counsellor India (MCI), Rupesh R. Shukla has dedicated his lifeโs work to helping individuals, schools, and organisations build emotionally aware and mentally resilient communities.
Since 2019, he has been deeply engaged in stress and depression counselling, family and marital therapy, and emotional well-being programmes. His understanding of healing and human connection evolved profoundly during the COVID-19 lockdown, when he witnessed how vulnerable and uncertain people had become.
Having been in professional academic counselling since 2013, Mr. Shukla has guided teenagers, parents, and professionals, recognising that true healing comes not from temporary comfort but from cultivating mental resilience, awareness, and inner balance. His work today focuses on mindset training, wellness workshops, and emotional education, helping people lead calmer, more meaningful lives.
As a Behavioural Psychology Expert and Senior Counsellor, he also takes pride in training and mentoring upcoming counsellors to become empathetic, ethically driven, and compassionate professionals. His vision is to strengthen Indiaโs mental health ecosystem by building a generation of counsellors who serve with both skill and heart.
