STAY HEALTHY IN
MONSOON.
1} PREVENTION OF DISEASES IN
MONSOON:-
Common Diseases in
Monsoon :-
1] High humidity levels and
dampness increase the risk
of fungal infections. Skin
and nails are the main body
organs, which are prone to
fungal infections because
of regular exposure to
water.
2] Body ache, fever and
running nose are the most
common health problems
during monsoons due to
cold and humid weather
conditions.
3] General health problems
include viral infections,
Dengue, Malaria, Typhoid,
Chickenguniya,
Gastroenteritis,
Conjunctivitis, Hepatitis A,
allergies and colds and
cough.
4] Food poisoning and
contamination of food can
cause Diarrhoea.
5] Chronic health problems
like Bronchitis and Arthritis
tend to act up in this season
mainly due to the high
humidity and cold climate.
TRY TO PREVENT:-
1) If you’re fond of street food,
the rainy season isn’t the time
to indulge. Pollution of water
and raw vegetables is very
common during the monsoon.
2) Apply a strong insect
repellent to keep mosquitoes
away and prevent getting
bitten.
3) Where possible, try to avoid
walking through dirty water.
Besides leptospirosis, it can
lead to numerous fungal
infections of the feet and nails.
Dry your feet whenever they
get wet.
4) Use antiseptic solutions like
dettol or savlon for washing
hands and feet daily.
5) Keep your home clean and
do not allow stagnant water
(source of breeding of
mosquitoes, which are the
main disease carriers during
monsoons) to accumulate
around the house.
6) Consult a doctor if a fever
lasts for more than two days,
as it could be a symptom of
malaria or typhoid.
7) Those who are prone to get
joint pains and arthritis, better
to avoid sitting or lying down
on damp and cold floor.
8) If you suffer from asthma or
diabetes, avoid staying
anywhere with damp walls. It
promotes the growth of fungus
and can be especially harmful.
9) If you are suffering from
Sore Throat, Cough and cold,
or Viral Infection then Gargling
with warm water with
turmeric and salt added in it
twice a day will surely help
you.

in the body. And "Pitta" also
increases leading to Gastric

disorders, cough & cold
problems, Indigestion,
Flatulance etc.
You should never eat when you

Use ghee, olive oil, corn oil

as they are lighter. Avoid heavy
oils like mustard oil, butter,

Bitter taste neutralizes Pitta, so
eat a lot of bitter vegetables
like bitter gourd (karela), and
bitter herbs like neem,
fenugreek, and turmeric as it
prevents infection.
