On 22-04.2026 on the occasion of Earth Day, Columbia College, Raipur organized a successful and impactful Poster Making Competition under the aegis of the Social Awareness & Extension Committee on the theme "One Earth, One Chance."

A large number of pupil teachers from B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. programs enthusiastically participated in the competition. Through their posters, participants creatively presented important themes such as environmental conservation, pollution control, climate change, tree plantation, and sustainable development.

Winners of the Competition-
- First Place: Khushbu Verma, B.Ed. II-Semester
- Second Place: Princy Xalxo, B.Ed. II-Semester)
- Third Place: Isha Nishad, B.Ed. II-Semester

The competition was evaluated by a panel of judges, including Miss Sinthia Zaman, Asst Prof., CPU and Dr. Neelam Arora, Asst. Prof., Columbia College. The results were declared based on creativity, presentation of content, and effectiveness of the message.

The event was successfully coordinated by Dr. Raj Dewangan.

Report on Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti Celebration at CCSC*

Ambedkar Jayanti was solemnly celebrated at Columbia College of Science and Commerce with great respect and enthusiasm to honor the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution.

The event officially commenced with a speech by Mrs. Tulsi Verma, who highlighted the life journey of Dr. Ambedkar. She spoke about his struggles, determination, and relentless efforts to achieve equality and justice in society. Her words emphasized how his vision continues to inspire generations.

Following her, Mrs. Sandhaya Shrivastava Mam addressed the gathering. She elaborated on Dr. Ambedkar’s remarkable work and his role in shaping modern India. She also explained how his actions and reforms transformed the social structure and improved the lives of marginalized communities.

Both speakers also shed light on the importance of the Indian Constitution, drafted under Dr. Ambedkar’s leadership. They explained how it ensures fundamental rights, equality, and justice for all citizens, making it the backbone of Indian democracy.

Overall, the celebration was meaningful and educational, reminding everyone of the lasting impact of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s life and legacy.

*Educational Visit to Vidhan Sabha, Nava Raipur*

Date of Visit: 17.04.2026
Organized by: Columbia College of Science and Commerce

A group of enthusiastic students, accompanied by two faculty members, participated in the Educational visit. The students belonged to various streams including Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management.

The primary objective of this visit was to provide students with practical exposure to the functioning of the legislative assembly and to enhance their understanding of democratic processes in India as well as familiarize students with the structure and functioning of the Vidhan Sabha. This visit was also helpful to enhance students’ awareness of governance and public administration.

Upon arrival at the Vidhan Sabha premises in Nava Raipur, students were accompanied by the administrative staff. Students were taken on a guided tour of the assembly building, where they observed the architectural design and facilities. Students were allowed to see the main assembly hall, where legislative sessions are conducted. Officials explained the roles and responsibilities of Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), the process of law-making, and the functioning of sessions. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and clarify their doubts regarding legislative procedures and governance.

The visit proved to be highly informative and enriching. Students gained a clear understanding of how laws are formulated and passed. It provided valuable practical knowledge and inspired students to become informed and responsible citizens. We expresses gratitude to the Vidhan Sabha authorities for facilitating this visit and making it a memorable learning experience.

Report on Participation in TV Show at IBC 24 News Channel

Time: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
Venue: IBC 24 News Channel Office, Mowa
On 17th April 2026, a group of 8 students along with 2 faculty members participated in a weekly debate show titled “Janta Cafe” at the IBC 24 News Channel office in Mowa. The topic of the debate was “Multiple Love”, where both students and faculty actively shared their views and engaged in meaningful discussion.
The session provided an excellent platform for participants to express their opinions, enhance their communication skills, and gain real-world exposure to media and public debate environments. The recording of the show is scheduled to be telecast on Sunday at 8:00 PM.
All participants found the experience highly enriching and expressed their enthusiasm to take part in similar opportunities in the future. At the end of the session, Participation Certificates were awarded to all the participants.
Overall, it was a valuable and insightful experience for both students and faculty members.

*Report on Farewell Party (Batch 2023–2026)*

The Farewell Party for the passing-out batch of 2023–2026 was organized on 16th April 2026 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Columbia Global School Auditorium. The event was organized by the Junior students of CCSC to bid a warm and memorable farewell to the senior students.

The program was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Honourable Shri Hurjeet Singh Hura Sir (Pro Chancellor, CPU) as the Chief Guest, and Honourable Shri Prof. Dr. Raman Kumar Jha Sir (Vice Chancellor, CPU) and Dr. Shiv Shankar Shukla (Registrar, CPU) as Guests of Honour.
The program began on a traditional note with Saraswati Vandana, followed by some enlightening inputs by both the dignitaries. Shri Hurjeet Singh Hura Sir enquired about the experiences of the passing out seniors, their future aspirations and goals in life and guided them all to take the right step. Prof. Dr. Raman Kumar Jha Sir spoke about PIC (preparation, innovation and commitment for our goals in life) which was very insightful indeed. It was followed by engaging cultural performances like songs and dances. The event created a joyful and emotional atmosphere as juniors expressed their gratitude and best wishes to their seniors.
