AKALI PHOOLA SINGH GURDWARA In PIR SABAQ:-----
Pir Sabaq on the banks of the river KABUL.Here exists the site where AKALI PHOOLA SINGH and BALBHADRA KUNWAR died during the Battle of NOWSHERA. In honour of AKALI PHOOLA SINGH, a GURDWARA and a tomb were constructed at the battle site in PIR SABAQ.
AKALI PHOOLA SINGH, commander of the irregular NIHANG Army, fought many battles for the expansion of the Sikh territories under the leadership of MAHARAJA RANJIT SINGH. Highly revered, he once sentenced whipping as a punishment for Maharaja Ranjit singh on account of moral misconduct, which the Maharaja accepted graciously.
The roof of the Gurdwara's prayer hall collapsed during the floods, now shielded it by installing tinned sheets.
