PNEUMATIC COMPRESSION THERAPY
uses inflatable sleeves attached to an air pump to apply rhythmic compression to a limb,
promoting blood and lymphatic fluid circulation. This technique helps prevent blood clots, particularly deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in the legs, by increasing blood flow and mimicking muscle contractions.
It is also used to treat conditions like lymphedema and lipedema by aiding lymphatic drainage and reducing swelling and tissue elasticity, and it can help relieve symptoms of orthostatic hypotension by improving venous return to the heart.
