Remembering Rani Lakshmibai on her death anniversary today. Named Manikarnika after the most famous ghat in Varanasi, the city in which she was born, she became the indomitable Rani of Jhansi!
Married young, she lost her husband early and faced the British imposition of the Doctrine of Lapse, which denied her adopted son the right to the throne. But she refused to yield.
With unwavering determination & courage, she declared, ‘I shall not surrender my Jhansi’.
At just 29, she gave up her life fighting for Jhansi’s freedom, becoming an enduring symbol of unmatched valour & sacrifice during India’s first war of independence.

अंतिम दिन उगते हुए सूर्य को अर्घ्य दिया जाता है। इसी के साथ 36 घंटे का निर्जला उपवास पूरा होता है। व्रती महिलाएं सूर्योदय के समय (सुबह 6:30 बजे) जल में डूबकी लगाकर सूर्य को अर्घ्य देती हैं और अपने परिवार की सुख-समृद्धि, संतान की दीर्घायु और जीवन में ऊर्जा की कामना करती हैं।
