A CME was organised on the Variations in Post - Operative Followup Up of patients undergoing Arthroplasty for Osteoarthritis by renowned Orthopedic Surgeon of London Dr. Asheem Nararen (MS, FRCS) at Raj Hospitals, Ranchi on 29th June, 2025 (Sunday) in association with The Indian Association of Physiotherapists.
Dr. Asheem Naraen is originally from Ranchi, settled in London He frequently visits his home town and provides his services at Raj Hospitals. He has been associated for long with Raj Hospitals and has been doing Orthopedic surgeries during his visits to India. He has performed several Total Knee Replacements, Hip Replacements,Arthroscopies and Arthroplasties with minimal complications and excellent outcomes.
In the CME he addressed the group of consultants and physiotherapists to discuss the various interesting cases of his patients who have undertaken treatment under him. Dr. Asheem Naraen said “It is very important that we keep a protocol for following-up of arthroplasty patients in a streamlined way for all those who undergo the same. He showed how this protocol helps in good outcomes post such surgeries.
This was followed by a session from DrAbhay Kumar Pandey (Senior Physiotherapists of Raj Hospitals, Ranchi) who illuminated the importance of Physiotherapy in Rehabilitation of Post surgical cases of Total Knee replacements. Dr. Abhay Said “Post operative Physiotherapy is very important after knee surgery, for the strength, range and balance of the patients in their movements. After surgery patients should go for a complete physiotherapy session according to standard protocol for complete recovery.
Dr. Ajit Kumar (President - IAP), Dr. Uma Sen Gupta Dr. Dinesh Thakur (Vice President - IAP), Dr. Gautam Lal (Treasurer - IAP) Dr. Satyam Prakash and doctors of Raj Hospitals were present in the CME. They applauded the entire event and congratulated Dr Asheem, Dr Abhay and Raj Hospitals for organising such scientific programs in the field of Medical Education for the Doctors and Physiotherapists in the city.
