Deepshikha is the only Institution of its kind to cater to special children in and around Ranchi. We had a very humble beginning on 17th July 1988 when Purshree, a ladies organisation started this Institute in a small room in Ranchi. With less than Rs. 10,000/- ($ 220) in our pockets and only one trained professional among us, it was our dream – the dream to create a platform for differently abled children – that sustained us, without any government aid. Ours is a vibrant organization that has grown as a reaction to need and opportunity. Initially started as a training center for mentally retarded children only, it now caters to cerebral palsy, autistic, learning disabled, hearing impaired, and children and adolescents with behavioral problems. MEET YOUR SPECIAL BUDDY, is a Deepshikha initiative to foster INCLUSION! All participating Schools came together in the Grand Finale and created an impact no lecture can!
Special Students of Deepshikha played alongside their peers without inhibition displaying a natural talent for cricket and football!
We at Deepshikha are overwhelmed with the love and affection of the schools and thank the Principals of Nirja Sahay DAV Public School, Cambrian Public School, Vivekanand Mandir, Surendranath Centenary School, Bishop Hartman and Sarala Birla Public School!
The District Education Officer graced the occasion as the Chief Guest!!

It’s pay day, once again!! We are thrilled to give out the remunerations to the adult students by the Director, Social Welfare, Ms Kiran Passi. We loved her interaction with the students and faculty! She took a keen interest in understanding the needs of the students with special needs.
She was quite taken up with the MOT of Panini Pedagogy that we have implemented at Deepshikha.

Inauguration of Meet Your Special Buddy!! Sahay DAV Public School!

Meet Your Special Buddy was created to promote inclusivity, friendship, and mutual respect among students. Deepshikha partners with schools across Ranchi to conduct Unified Sports as part of World Disability Week.

Unified Sports, an initiative of Special Olympics, brings together individuals with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. Based on the belief that training and playing together fosters understanding, it encourages teamwork, builds empathy, and creates meaningful social inclusion.

Rudransh Chakravarty from Jamshedpur, won a gold medal in computer science Olympiad!!
Rudransh was under the FMIP program at Deepshikha. Credit to his teachers Pushplata and Sunil and of course his parents for bringing out the best in him!
