Mudras work on the nerves, they are a NEURAL SCIENCE

The science of Gestures is a gift of our ancient Rishis and Munis, and even Gods have communicated each other by gestures. We can see the evidences in the walls of our ancient temples, Thus we can understand Mudra’s are also an expression, a sign language, a bodily gesture, or even a communication we can say.

The human body is an unparalleled marvel; of nature. It is perfect in all respects. It not only performs its functions as it is meant to but is also capable of:
- adapting to changed circumstances (environmental factors, loss of parts etc.)
- correcting any functional parameters that may be going out (diseases )
- repairing any defects creeping in (accidental damages) and
- taking care of any malfunctioning (ailments) of the constituent parts (organs).
In the natural course of things, all that an affected part has to do is to send a message to the master – THE BRAIN. The super computer that is beyond the wildest imagination of modern science. This BRAIN then studies / analyses the problem, determines solutions / actions required, decides what resources are necessary to meet the situation and who will provide them. It then conveys the instructions to the involved parties. All of them then come together, act in concert and provide relief / repairs to the affected part. All this is done in less time than you could say ‘WOW’
The key to efficient working of this entire system is an efficient message communication system. Time is often of essence in such situations and clarity and speed of communication of vital importance. The communication system is our nerves. Spread over the entire body, these nerves carry innumerable and infinitely complex messages without pause.
This communication system is not permitted to have defects (nervous tensions???).
This communication system is not permitted to have breakdowns (nervous breakdown???).
When a wire carrying messages gets a nick or a dent, when a message carrying frequency encounters an interference, the messages get garbled and do not come across clearly. This causes a ‘Communication Gap’. Any Communication Gap can seriously undermine the efficacy of the system and hence the cure. This is what happens between the sender and the receiver in the human body also. This prevents the correct nature of complaint reaching the brain and the correct actions reaching the various involved constituents.
Therefore it is of vital importance that the nerves stay in their natural condition and natural tension – the default tension provided by nature. The logic applying to animals and more so to humans. The farther humans go from nature, the more the tensions in their nerves go out of the default settings.

The Science behind Mudras

The physical body is made up of five elements namely - Air, Water, Fire, Earth and Aakash (ether - the tiny intercellular spaces in the human body).
Imbalance of these elements disrupts the immunity system and causes disease.
Deficiencies in any of these elements can be made up by connecting one part of the body with another in a particular manner through Mudras.
When a finger representing an element is brought into contact with the thumb, that element is brought into balance. Therefore the disease caused by the imbalance is cured. Mudras start electromagnetic currents within the body which balance various constituting elements and restore health. The joining of fingers creates an effect on the human body.
Five Fingers for Five Elements
* Thumb Fire
* Index Air
* Middle Aakash
* Ring Earth
* Little Water

The finger tips of every living being have many concentrated nerve root endings which are free energy discharge points. Science also confirms that around every tip there is a concentration of free electrons. By touching together of the tips of the fingers or the finger tips to other parts of the palms this free energy (Prana) is redirected back into the body along specified channels, back up to the brain. The redirected energy traveling through the nerves stimulates the various chakras. Keeping the hands on the knees stimulates the Gupta Nari and makes the energy start from the Mooladhara Chakra.
Thus, the tension applied to the nerve/s and/or the neural or psycho-neural circuits formed by the mudras help in balancing the five basic elements (or building blocks). This balancing of the tension, and redirection of the internal energy effects the changes in veins, tendons, glands and sensory organs, to bring the body back to a healthy state.
Keeping specified nerves stretched for specified periods tones up of the nervous system. The fingers of each hand are held folded in certain specific postures and this provides the required tension on the nerves.
The fingers of each and every individual in the world are different in their shapes and sizes. These are determined and provided by nature as a tool to bring the nerves into prime condition when affected adversely.
Thus, they provide a different 'end tension' on the nerves when different individuals fold their fingers or the same individual folds the fingers by different methods in different Mudras. This is exactly the tension required by that individual for that particular application. Nature has already bestowed us with the tools to be used to keep us healthy.
Compare this with Acupressure where the nerves are influenced by the application of pressure on certain points or Acupuncture, where slight electrical impulses are conveyed through needles inserted in the body. The advantage in Mudras is that the pressure to be applied on the nerves is automatic and controlled by the shape and size of the fingers and not by external agencies.

Because the Mudras work on the nerves, they are a NEURAL SCIENCE.

Mudra Vigyan is also a science based on the principles of the Indian Medical Science (Ayurveda) which lays down three factors primarily responsible for the body's ills, Vata (wind), Pitta (bile) and Kapha (Phlegm).
10 types of Vayus (Winds) circulate through the nerves of the human body and can be controlled with MUDRAS.
MUKHYA VAYUS (Main Winds)
Pran Vayu Mouth; central nose; central nabhi; heart
Apan Vayu Re**um; regenerative organs; knees; loins Stomach; waist; navel and calves
Vyan Vayu Eyes; ears; shoulders; ankles; throat
Udan Vayu Hands and feet
Saman Vayu assists other Vayus
UPVAYUS (Secondary winds)
Nag Vayu, Kurm Vayu, Kriker Vayu, Krikal or Devadutta Vayu, Dhananjaya Vayu and these winds circulate in places like the skin and bones etc.

• Mudras can bring miraculous mental, spiritual and physical changes and improvements in our body. They help in quickly balancing the elements of the body.
• Mudras effect changes in veins, tendons, glands and sense organs.
• Mudras need no prior preparation. They can be done (mostly but with exceptions) at any time, anywhere and under virtually any circumstances.
• They are like literal remote control switches bringing quick and effective changes.
• They help bring about permanent changes.
• A constant practice of Mudras can stop or slow down the destructive changes in the human body. It can help develop a virtuous, socially amiable, non-violent, pious and courteous disposition.

Timing and duration for mudras :-
In the initial phase mudras should be performed for at least 10 minutes and then can be extended to 30 minutes to 1 hour. It is not necessary to leave all your normal work for 1 hour to perform mudras as it can be done at any time, any place, and in any posture, even if you can't perform all at one stretch you can practice in 2-3 installments.

This is why the Law of Attraction might not be Working for you

Lets say you want to earn $10,000 per month but you have the belief that “People like me don’t earn that kind of money”, no matter how many times you affirm, “I’m now attracting a $10,000 monthly income″, the law of attraction will match your belief that people like you don’t earn that kind of money. So it is critical to your success with the law of attraction that you first identify what you already believe about achieving your goal before trying to create new beliefs about it.

In order for your subconscious mind to accept a new belief you must first identify any negative counter-beliefs that might be blocking the manifestation of your desires.

Think of a goal that you would like to manifest, now write down as many negative thoughts as you can think of that you might have about creating this goal. It is essential that you are 100% honest with yourself because whatever you’ve written down is the thing that is blocking your desired manifestations.

Once you’ve identified the particular thoughts that are blocking your manifestation, create affirmations that are the OPPOSITE of the negative thoughts. These new positive thoughts will act like an antidote and the more you repeat them the more they will inoculate you with the positive vibration that will gradually dissolve the negative beliefs and allow you to form new positive beliefs that are more in alignment with your desires.

The Large Intestine

The large intestine is responsible for transforming and transporting waste from the body. This waste is the residue of the digestion process, where water is removed from digested materials and is then eliminated from the body. Likewise, the large intestine is responsible for not only the elimination of waste products, but also the elimination of old/toxic thoughts and feelings.

Called the Controller of the Drainage of Dregs or the Great Eliminator, this official is responsible for the elimination of what we cannot use. It controls our ability to transform ourselves and our lives.

By letting go of the old, we make room for new energy and ideas to enter into our being. This allows us to open ourselves up to growth and change. The ability to transform ourselves makes the large intestine responsible for not only the elimination of the waste products but also the evolution of the self.

The large intestine can become imbalanced when we “grin and bear it”, “bite the bullet,” when we take on the defensive posture of “I won’t let them get to me,” or “I won’t let them see that they got to me”.

An imbalanced large intestine can also cause us to hold onto energies that are no longer useful to us. When we hold on to negative thought and emotions they can swirl around and around in our psyche wreaking havoc until finally we are able to let them go.

Balanced – When it is balanced, the individual experiences compassion, good survival instincts, individuality, positive outlook, and endurance.

Physical Imbalances – Physically, this imbalance manifests as constipation, diarrhea, lower bowel pain, colitis, IBS, intestinal gas, blocked pores, greasy skin, or an impaired sense of smell.

Emotional Imbalances – Emotionally, it is experienced as resentment, worry, anguish, inflexibility of body and mind, pessimism, stubbornness, holding on, regret, inability to forgive, bitterness or cynicism.

Dreaming is a sign of physical & mental illness...

Whether or not you dream, and even what you dream about, is an important diagnostic sign in Chinese medicine pointing to what organs in your body may be out of balance. It is normal to dream, but when dreams become repetitive or disruptive to your sleep or you are bothered by nightmares, it is time to assess the bigger picture. A good practitioner of Chinese medicine will always ask about the frequency and nature of dreams and will use this information along with the other signs and symptoms in the health history to determine the pattern of imbalance.
This is a fact taken for granted in many areas of diagnostic medicine—such as using a blood test to detect early physiological signs of infection or disease. These subtle physiological changes are also detected by the brain on a subconscious level, and may be translated into “prodromal” dreams—dreams that reflect the onset of an illness prior to the appearance of symptoms. Recognizing prodromal dream cues can be particularly useful for establishing early interventions against sickness.
There are several cases cited in the literature of dreams that directly indicated illness through imagery. For example, dreams preceding migraines have been reported to include pertinent images, such as being shot or struck by lightning in the head (Warnes & Finkelstein, 1971; Gutheil, 1958). Another example:
A man [who] experienced a recurring dream in which a rat was gnawing at the lower part of his abdomen… was soon diagnosed with a duodenal ulcer. (Mitchell, 1923)
This is the most obvious way that dreams can reveal warning signs of illness—through repeated imagery of body wounds or pain. More generally, some common dream features associated with physical illness include an increase in dream recall, and increased distressful and fearful, often violent nightmares, which may persist throughout the night, and over multiple consecutive nights (Kasatkin, cited in Van de Castle, 1994).
Prodromal dreams have also been studied in relation to more serious illnesses, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. There is some anecdotal evidence that prodromal dreams can indicate the location of cancer. For example:
A breast cancer patient dreamed that her head was shaved with the word "cancer" written on it. Three weeks later, she received the diagnosis that the cancer spread to her brain. (Siegel, 1983, cited in Van de Castle, 1994)
In Chinese medicine, the Heart controls the mind and is closely related to our ability to think clearly, sleep soundly and have a good memory. All dreams are in some way related to a Heart disharmony, but some are more specifically related. According to the Chinese classic, “Simple Questions”, “When the Heart is weak, one dreams of fires; if the dream takes place in the summertime, one dreams of volcanic eruptions”. Another reference in the classic “Spiritual Axis” states that “When the Heart is in excess, one dreams of laughing…when the Heart is deficient, one dreams of mountains, fire and smoke”.
The Kidneys have a close relationship to the Heart in Chinese Medicine. The Kidney energy is the source of all warmth and energy in the body. The Kidney energy supports all of the other organs. This energy has to be strong to ascend from the Kidney to communicate with the Heart in order for the Heart to house the mind. The Spiritual Axis states that, “When the Kidneys are in excess one dreams that the spine is detached from the body…when they are weak, one dreams of being immersed in water.” “Simple Questions” states that “When the Kidneys are weak, one dreams of swimming after a shipwreck; if the dream takes place in the winter, one dreams of plunging in the water and being scared”.
The Liver is responsible for storing Blood and ensuring the smooth flow of Qi in the body. If the Liver is able to perform its functions, the Heart will have enough Blood to nourish the mind. If the Liver Qi is stagnant, Heat may be generated and rise up to harass the mind. “Simple Questions” states that “When the Liver is in excess, one dreams of being angry”. And “When the Liver is deficient, one dreams of very fragrant mushrooms. If the dream takes place in spring, one dreams of lying under a tree without being able to get up”. The “Spiritual Axis” states that, “When the Liver is deficient one dreams of forests in the mountains”.
The Lungs control the Qi which is closely associated to the Blood and how the Blood flows to nourish all of the organs. “Simple Questions” states that “When the Lungs are in excess, one dreams of weeping”. “If the Lungs are deficient, one will dream of white objects or about bloody killings. If the dream takes place in the autumn, one will dream of battles and war”. “Spiritual Axis” states that “When the Lungs are in excess, one will have dreams of worry and fear, or crying and flying….if the Lungs are deficient one will dream of flying and seeing strange objects made of gold or iron”.
The Spleen also has a very close connection to the mind. The Spleen influences our ability to study and memorize. “Simple Questions” states that, “If the Spleen is deficient, one dreams of being hungry; if the dream takes place in late summer, one dreams of building a house”. Spiritual Axis” states that, “If the Spleen is in excess one dreams of singing and being very heavy…if the Spleen is deficient one dreams of abysses in mountains and of marshes”.
The Gallbladder has an influence on the length and quality of sleep. If the Gallbladder qi is deficient, a person will wake early in the morning and not be able to fall back asleep. Chinese texts state, that “When the Gallbladder is deficient, one dreams of fights, trials, and suicide.”
The “Spiritual Axis” states that “When the Small Intestine is deficient, one dreams of large cities”, and “When the Large Intestine is deficient, one dreams of open fields”.
If there is a pattern to your dreams, Chinese medicine could logically explain a correlation according the Five Element theory. If they always occur in a specific season it could be significant. Heart is summer, Lung is fall, Kidney is winter, Liver is spring and Spleen is late summer. If they always are associated with a specific color it could be significant. Heart is red, Lung is white, Kidney is black, Liver is green and Spleen is yellow. If they are always associated with a particular emotion, it could be significant. Heart is joy, Lung is grief, Kidney is fear, Liver is anger, and Spleen is worry. If they are always related to a particular element it could be significant. Heart is fire, Lung is metal, Kidney is water, Liver is wood and Spleen is earth.
