AOI- Association of Otorhinolaryngologists , Rewari Branch under the Presidentship of Dr Kanwar Singh, celebrated World Hearing Day on 3rd March with a beautifully organised camp at Shri Ashwini Saxena Hospital.
Guest of Honour, Deputy Commissioner Rewari, Sh Yashendra Singh committed to provide high quality hearing aids to elderly patients who are needy, free of cost. Hearing tests and machine trials for patient selection were underway at the camp for the same, which was highly appreciated by all.
Deputy CMO, Dr Vijay Prakash elaborated on the effects of hearing loss in early childhood. A child who cannot hear also cannot learn how to speak. And is at double disadvantage of being both deaf and mute.
Haryana Coordinator of National Initiative for Safe Sound, Dr Adesh Saxena led the initiative for free hearing screening for traffic police personnel who have to withstand working long hours in noisy surroundings.
The findings of the hearing screening and ambient noise levels in the city will be presented to the state administration and based on those recommendations , measures will be taken to reduce noise pollution.
A slogan writing and poster competition was organised by AOI alongwith IMA Rewari and the talent of Dr Narendra Yadav and Dr Rajiv Wig was displayed and complimented by all.
Bringing awareness about hearing was the objective of the celebration and the programme was attended senior members of doctor fraternity and all ENT surgeons of Rewari City.
IMA President Dr RB Yadav, secretary Dr Deepak , WDW chairman Dr Kavita, FOGSI chairperson Dr Mitra, Past President Dr Pawan Goel and Dr Ashok Saini were present at the programme and committed to increasing awareness amongst patients of branches other than ENT.
