Chanting Om (Aum)
Om is considered the primordial sound — the vibration from which the entire universe arises. When we chant Om, we connect our breath, mind, and inner awareness to this universal vibration.

Om has three sounds:
A – awakening, beginning, creation
U – expansion, continuation, transformation
M – completion, dissolution, deep rest

When these three merge, they guide the mind toward silence and stillness.

Benefits of chanting Om:
• Calms the nervous system
• Balances breath and mind
• Enhances focus and meditation
• Creates inner harmony
• Activates higher awareness

Kurmasana feels like meditation 🐢🧘✨

Exploring Kurmasana -a posture of surrender, grounding, and deep introspection. It opens the hips, lengthens the back body, and invites the mind to move inward. A powerful reminder that growth happens in stillness.

Trivikramasana (त्रिविक्रमासन)

Meaning:
Named after Lord Trivikrama, the giant form of Vishnu who expanded the universe in three steps.
This asana symbolizes expansion, balance, control, and transcendence.

What the Pose Looks Like

Trivikramasana is an advanced standing balancing pose where:
• You stand on one leg
• The other leg is lifted very high -usually straight up (180°) either:
• to the front,
• or to the side
• You hold the lifted leg with your hand
• Spine stays upright and the body does not lean forward

This creates a long, extended line from the standing foot up to the lifted foot.

Key Points of the Asana
• Extreme hamstring and adductor flexibility
• Strong core and hip stability
• Deep balance control
• One of the most advanced standing asanas in Hatha and Ashtanga yoga traditions

Types / Variations
1. Trivikramasana (Front Extension)
Leg lifted straight in front, held with hand.
2. Trivikramasana (Side Extension)
Leg held to the side — more common in classical Hatha.
3. Dynamic Trivikramasana
The leg transitions into an extension without bending the spine.

Benefits
• Enhances balance and mental focus
• Opens hamstrings and hips deeply
• Strengthens legs, core, and pelvic muscles
• Improves overall control and alignment

Contraindications
• Hamstring injury
• Hip joint issues
• Lower back or sacrum pain
• Balance disorders

Symbolic Meaning

Represents:
• Big step in spiritual growth
• Expansion of consciousness
• Mastery over body and mind

🕉️ Mahamrityunjaya Mantra — a divine vibration of healing, protection, and transformation.
Chanting this sacred mantra connects us to Lord Shiva, dissolving fear and awakening inner strength.

What a profound experience leading this 5-day intensive yoga retreat in Rishikesh, a place I proudly call home. Each day commenced with the rising sun and the soothing sound of the Ganga, flowing into powerful morning Ashtanga sessions that tested physical and mental endurance. We engaged in meaningful philosophy discussions, practiced Shatkarma for inner purification, and explored the depths of pranayama and dynamic meditation to quiet the restless mind. Evenings were devoted to grounding Hatha flows, creating balance between energy and stillness. Beyond the mat, we connected with the spirit of Rishikesh through temple visits, a sacred fire ceremony, and moments of laughter in the local market. Witnessing each participant's transformation and deep connection with yoga was truly inspiring. My heart is filled with gratitude for everyone who made this journey so special. 💫🕉️
