Is a ritual a special ceremony that we participate in or is it an attitude…the way we create sacred time through our intentional actions?
There is great power in traditional ceremonies, such as our regular Vedic practice of Yajna (fire ceremony) handed down to us by our beloved
Ceremony can be a place of honouring what is sacred and that which sustains life.
Carried by tradition and pulled in the wake of rituals that have accessed deeper connection for 1000s of years.
Through ceremony we also have an opportunity to turn inwards, to sense what is subtle and remember our deeper nature.
But perhaps we can bring this same attitude to the rhythm of our regular days?
The way we prepare food, the way we make our bed, our yoga practice can all be daily rituals where we are shaken from the mundane and monotonous into a moment of presence and depth.
The way we pay attention creates the conditions for ritual and a doorway into daily remembering who we truly are.
