Even after good fixation fracture neck of femur leads to Avascular Necrosis of femoral head and Total hip replacement is the only solution to that. Planning and Ex*****on must be perfect to provide good outcome.

Tendoachilles is one of the strongest tendons of the body. Tendoachilles tear is a common injury in sports and sometimes it happens with elderly due to chronic tendonitis of achilles tendon. When it ruptures from its insertion in calcaneum its called Insertional tear.
Repair is done with the help of suture anchors. Many techniques have been described in the literature. We do it with the help of 2 suture anchors. It has shown very good prognosis and recovery.

Ankylosing Spondylitis is a disabling disorder affecting mostly young men in their 20s or 30s. The cause is unknown and mostly believed to be genetic, although few environmental risk factors have been debated a lot. The most common pathology is seen in sacro-iliac joints and spine where it cause inflammatory arthritis of SI joints leading to Sacroilitis and thereby fusion of SI Joints.
In spine, calcification of intervertebral discs lead to fusion of spine which looks like a bamboo on an x-ray and therefore termed as Bamboo spine.
Altogether this leads to restricted mobility and postural disability. In later stages, peripheral joints (most commonly hip joints) are also involved making the person cripple.
Even though there is No permanent cure for this condition but treatment helps in improving quality of life. Treatment includes medicines to reduce the disease activity, physiotherapy for better mobility and function and lifestyle changes.
Without treatment progression of disease leads to extra articular manifestations and untimely death. Therefore, consistent and timely treatment is very important in improving the quality of life and spending a longer and healthier life.

Arthritis can sometimes affect single knee joint and in that situation all weight of the body is borne by the healthy knee because the affected knee has a lot of pain and difficulty. Therefore replacing a single knee joint might help in equal distribution of weight on both knees thereby reducing the progression of disease on the unaffected side.
