In In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), embryos are created in the laboratory and transferred into the uterine cavity to achieve pregnancy. The incidence of multiple pregnancy is higher in IVF compared to natural conception.The increased rate of twin pregnancy in IVF is mainly due to multiple embryo transfer and enhanced implantation efficiency.
