BVDU Dental College Sangli was established in year 2008. The college is located in a Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Medical College Campus Sangli. College is about 4 Kms from Miraj Railway station and about 50 Kms from Kolhapur Airport. The college has been permitted by the Dental Council of India. The College is provided an impressive infrastructure along with modern equipment's and materials. The college has a total built up area of 2 lac sq.ft. with a vision of increasing it further. The college has taken a zero tolerant view against ragging. Appropriate measures are taken to prevent any sort of ragging activity. The students in the college are from different parts of India with different cultural backgrounds. Every effort is made for cordial induction of students into the campus. The Campus is very rich with impressive infrastructure. Facilities like separate Hostels for Boys & Girls, digital library with e-learning and other facilities, well equipped gymnasium, pharmacy, canteen , auditorium etc are available within the campus. Today the BVDU Dental College and Hospital, Sangli within the 5 years of its inception has many glorious credentials in the form of its meritorious students, well learned faculty, greater number of patients getting treated and unending thirst for excellence. Course offered are BDS and MDS in 5 specialites. Orthodontics, Conservative & Endodontics, Pedodontics, Prosthodontics, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Vision

We had the 2 nd academic committee meeting , matters related to conducting theory classes/ practical’s/ demonstrations / innovative assessment methods/ further improvements in teaching- learning/ supporting students for research projects/ remedial classes for slow learner’s were discussed in length and it was decided to implement all things for the benefit of students.

We are proud to share that Dr. Uma Datar, Assistant Professor, Department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology, was selected to participate in the ICMR-INTENT sponsored Workshop on the Clinical Validation of Medical Devices and Diagnostics held at KAHER, Belagavi.
This workshop brought together clinicians, researchers, innovators, and regulators to strengthen India’s MedTech ecosystem, with a focus on clinical evaluation, regulatory pathways, ethics, and post-market oversight.
Congratulations to Dr. Uma on this recognition—bringing new insights and collaborations back to our institution to further enhance our academic and research standing.

Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) Dental College and Hospital, Sangli conducted camp at Om Engineering Works, Yadrav on 10/09/2025
Dental camp attendees were provided with Health Talk on oral health importance and were provided with tooth brushing technique demonstration. Total 70 patients were screened and treatment (Scaling) of 20 patients has been done . Also toothpaste samples were distributed.

The lecture was delivered by eminent Dentist , Research and Innovation Head of ICPA Health Products and Executive Editor of South Asia Division of Dental Tribune - Dr Rajeev Chitguppi. The program was attended by Faculty , students ( PG and UG), and Interns.
